Hi All,
Since January 10th was the application deadline, do any of you have an idea as to when the earliest when we will hear from UTHSC-San Antonio? I already have my bachelor's degree in a non-nursing subject but I opted for the 2-year traditional route because the accelerated program just seemed too intense. Are there other 2nd degree folks out there applying to the 2 year program as well? Good luck to you all! I hope we are all there in the Fall!
If I get accepted into UTHSCSA and get picked up by the NECP (Air Force Nursing program), then yes, I will PCS this summer, probably in July.
If I get into Nursing, I would like to work Pediatrics. Everyone wants to deliver babies.. not me!! But I do love kids, so Pediatrics would work... I think ICU would be interesting.. challenging, but interesting.
Diabetes runs in my family.. I had gestational diabetes, so I am at risk later on, but hopefully not. How is your child doing with it?
Anyone heard anything yet? Well today begins the two week wait.. or atleast thats the message I got when it came to my email about them receiving my TEAS score. Good luck everyone..
You received an email confirming that they received your score??
I emailed the advisor the next business day after taking my TEAS (in early March) and he said he did not receive the score. I called ATI and they resent it. Then the advisor emailed me saying he got it.
THEN last Thursday a different UTHSCSA employee emailed me saying that they did NOT get the score. I emailed her all my information and told her about the first email I sent in early March. The next day another UTHSCSA employee emailed me and told me not to worry about it and they were taking care of it. I still have not heard back from them. I thought they sent out acceptance letters starting Friday March 25 so I'll just be holding my breath until then.
Well Im nervous about this whole process too because when I asked them had they received my score they actually started asking me if I even received an email from Mr. Ashburn about taking the TEAS!!1:confused: So I had to email the email that Mr. Ashburn sent me, and turns out that they still had me under two names, my maiden name and married name.. Now I thought I had that straightened out when I got my transcript eval.. I was kind of annoyed about that.. then after all the hoopla, they said they had received my initial score but not the last one I took which was higher.. so then the girl emailed me back, and I ended up calling back and she said they got the score the next day.. not sure what is going on there.. Then finally, I got an email from someone within the nursing school admin saying they had received my score and they would be evaluating everyones package an sending out acceptance/waitlist/rejection letters within two weeks... *catching my breath!*
So let the waiting begin!!

Good luck on the TEAS. I wish I could have retaken it.. but being overseas, I could only take it 2 times a week. And being in the military and having a family just didnt afford me the opportunity to do it again before today. The TEAS weighs more than GPA, so Id say if you do well on the TEAS, you come out better than with the GPA!
