UTHSC Traditional BSN Spring 2014 Applicants

I have seen many threads for previous applicants for past semesters to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I wanted to start one myself as I am applying for the spring 2014 traditional BSN and have yet to find a thread for it. Although I opened it for applicants, I would also encourage previous applicants, current/previous students, and applicants for other semesters at UTHSC to join in and share in this exciting time!

Did they also give you the instructions to get some of the requirements completed if you come off the wait list? Like the urinalysis background check? I would hope they gave you all the courtesy of that so your not thrown into a stressful time crunch to get all of it completed before class starts. And if they did not maybe call them and ask about it? Just an idea.[/quote']

Nope they just said that they would inform us when spots become available! I hope the people who accepted to multiple schools will chose which one they will attend! That will increase our chances if being accepted.

apparently I have been following this thread thinking it is this school The University of Texas Health Science Center - School of Nursing but I finally realized it wasn't because all of you took HESI and this school needs a teas. LOL

This forum is for University of Texas health science center downtown! HESI is the entrance exam needed to apply.

Well, I emailed the admissions coordinator, and she said that I "should be receiving a letter in the mail soon." (ie: denial, I believe) I know the last time I got denied my status didn't change until several weeks after I got the letter. Best of luck to everyone here on this forum! :)

Just got a denial in the mail.

here are my stats in case you guys are wondering:

HESI:

Math - 94%

Reading Comprehension - 96%

Vocabulary and General Knowledge - 90%

Grammar - 96%

Anatomy and Physiology - 96%

Critical Thinking - 900

Learning style: Cognitive/Analytical

Personality style: Creative/Leader

GPA:

Nursing - 3.899

Science- 3.833

Have you tried emailing Brandy Walker at the school? I am just flabbergasted as to why they would deny you. Your stats are better than mine and you have a previous bachelors degree. I'm really wondering if they messed something up on their end (like they did to jsim). I just can't see them denying you with those stats! I would really try emailing Brandy and see if she can clarify.

Mze116, I agree, maybe they messed something up on your transcript evaluation. Your stats are really good.

Apriljacklynn, I remember your stats being good too! I hope they wouldn't send you a rejection letter.

I was put on the wait list. My stats are:

Science GPA: 3.6

Nursing GPA: 3.5

HESI

Overall: 93.2%

Reading Comprehension: 96

Grammar: 96

Vocab: 96

A&P: 80

Math: 98

Critical Thinking: 940
