I'm incredibly disappointed in the changing of the deadline. I could had retaken the HESI in those 2 weeks. Grrrrrr

Did PVAMU always require community service hours? I was going to apply there too but when I was about to submit everything, I saw that & couldn't recall that being there the last time.

I am also applying to lone star's program as a backup and they also just extended their deadline another 15 days....interesting

In these past few days I've found more comfort than anything in the notion that "whatever is meant to be will be." I'm not going to lie, I have done very poorly in some courses in my past at UT Austin which is more than likely why I was denied last round, and may now need to realize that I would get denied this time around, as well. But since then, I've brought up my grades, and done well in all other aspects (eg: nursing and science prereqs and HESI.) At the end of the day, the school that will give me the chance to prove myself will be the best fit and be "meant to be..." be it at UTHSCH or not.

So I hope my little soapbox stand gives you all some hope as well. :) And if we aren't accepted this time around, it may be also be a way to 1)keep our resolves stronger in our career choice to continue our efforts and 2)give us time for things which we may not have time to enjoy once we DO matriculate.

In the meantime, we need to relax and enjoy this time before then and allow life to surprise us. :)

I just spoke to a BSN counsellor at Uthsc-H. I asked her a couple of questions, and this is what she said.

1. They will not release the number of applicants until those who get admitted are admitted. Hence, not until the very end. Then she asked me why I wanted to know that. I said I wanted to see how competitive this application pool is. She simply replied to be competitive you should have high GPA and Hesi scores.

2. I asked to verify if the school had changed the deadline from August 15 to Sept 1, and she replied the deadline date still remains the same 08-15.

3. For those who are still waiting for evaluations (like me), they are still in the process of processing them since there are many applicants.

After the deadline was mentioned I looked on their website, and I believe the RN-BSN is September 1, and trad BSN remains Aug 15.

I did the same thing and it still said 8/15. I did notice that the graphics on their site changed up a bit, but couldn't find anything else that had changed. Thank you flower23 for getting that info :)

Hmm...maybe the person I spoke with assumed I was asking about the RN-BSN? That's so odd, she specifically used the word "extended." Oh well! Happy Thursday, y'all!
