UTHSC Traditional BSN Spring 2014 Applicants

I have seen many threads for previous applicants for past semesters to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I wanted to start one myself as I am applying for the spring 2014 traditional BSN and have yet to find a thread for it. Although I opened it for applicants, I would also encourage previous applicants, current/previous students, and applicants for other semesters at UTHSC to join in and share in this exciting time!

I'm shooting for first or second week of October. I'm hoping the whole Pacesetter decision doesn't delay them though... Weren't previous applicants notified via email first?

Yeah I saw on Facebook that the fall semester students already have orientation yesterday so they should be pretty much done with all the fall students, except for maybe very few last minute dropouts!

Has anyone been able to get ahold of the school? I called a couple times and have emailed them. I really would like to know the number of how many applied to the school for spring.

Usually they do answer. Did you call the #:713-500-2000, and transfer to the Student Affair Dept (that's also called the Nursing Admission office)? I tried to email once, but (idk) they never responded.

Alright friends I got an email back from the school. The lady said that they will have the number in September when everyone's documents are officially at the school. However she said last year they have 800 applicants and accepted 100. I know that they accepted 175 last spring (from an info session) and they said it was too many so they are cutting back on the number from now on...so I'm just not sure she will give us the right number even in September!

Ugh that's even more nerve wracking. That's only like a 12% acceptance rate. Let's just hope a lot of those people didn't properly complete the application process. I'm ready to just fast forward a month. Thank you for following up on that Megan!

Exactly! It's bad but I'm starting to hope a couple hundred people had no idea what they were doing lol no problem!!! Still so nervous about the number!!

Add me to the group that didnt properly complete the requirements =( =( =( I just noticed today that nothing was pending on my to do list. I did well on the HESI, I just didnt take the CT portion. I knew it when I did it, now I am just mad at myself for not retaking it elsewhere.

Oh my goodness that's awful! I'm so sorry about that!! I've heard that summer is easier to get into if you've already applied for spring and didn't get in! There's hope!

Aww you are too kind, it was definitely my fault, so I will take it. I didnt study and did well, so I know if I study a bit I can ace it. Thats good to know that summer is easier! I should get accepted in January to another program or 2, but this was my first choice (even though I applied really late into the game). In all honesty, they probably didnt receive one of my transcripts until Monday, so that could have been another factor (depending on how strict they are).

I just wanted to give yall hope that 700 other people werent going to be accepted ;)
