I have seen various threads for previous applicants that applied to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I was not able to find a thread for UTHSC Fall 2016 applicants so I decided to start one. If a thread already exists, I am sorry. I will also be applying to TWU-Houston and UTMB. I know the process is stressful, so I will try to make it easier. I will be attending the May 22 info session at UT and the May 28 one at TWU. I will be sure to update any information discussed in the sessions for those who are not able to attend. If there are any previous applicants, or current and previous students, I would appreciate if you could join and share your experience in the school as well as your application process.

@Chloeg if you end up going to TWU let me know!! Congrats on your acceptance!! And yes you're right! I am super stoked I got in! UT was my first choice- but I believe everything happens for a reason, and so I believe TWU may very well be a better fit for me.
Anyway, it was great having ALL of you guys to ride this ride with!
And to those who didn't get in anywhere, that was me last spring! Try again. It'll happen. You guys have come way too far to give up now!

Does anyone know how long they give you to do immunizations and the background check after receiving acceptance? I don't have high hopes for the waitlist and accepted another school's offer, but I want to be prepared just in case. Thanks!
Has anyone not heard back yet...? My application on myUTH still says incomplete & i haven't received anything from them in the mail the past few days either. I did receive an evaluation a couple months back + spoke with someone on the phone last week and she said they have all of my application materials!

As of now, I haven't really received much info on deadlines for fall admits. They are focusing on the summer admits at the moment.
If you want to know which immunizations they require, you can check the list out at the "new students" page on UTH's nursing website. The deadlines on the page are for new summer students.

It takes a few weeks to get everything cleared through the system you upload your immunizations etc. you have to be cleared to registered for classes...hope that helps!
Anyone know anything about UTHSC housing?? Or where a good/ cheap place to live is? I looked online and saw there is some housing associated with UTHSC, but I'm not sure what most students do
