Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

Quick question-- On the website it says 40 of the 60 hours must be completed and 8 of them must be the science classes when applying.

I have read so many different things on this website and it has confused me. Do you have to have ALL 60 prereqs completed to be accepted? The way I understand it on the website is 40/60 hours must be completed & 8 must be sciences they require. If anyone knows an exact answer to this question, I'd greatly appreciate the feedback.

When you apply you have to have the 40 hrs including the 8 science hrs completed but if you are accepted you have to have all 60 of the hrs completed before you start the program and register for classes. When I applied I had all but 4 classes done and I start in the summer so the classes I'm taking now will be done before I star

Awesome thanks! Are you 100% on this information? I attended an information session and have read the online information thoroughly and haven't seen that stated anywhere. So, it really does confuse me. Thanks!!!

Awesome, thanks! Are you 100% about this information? I have read thoroughly online and attended information session and never really got the full understanding since the information doesn't really specify that. I took it as long as you have 40/60, you're good to go. I hate not being 100% positive.

Yeah as long as you have to 40/60 when applying you are fine but if you get accepted and don't have all the 60 completed you cannot start the program

No I just recently got accepted for the summer program but I also went to an information session before applying and that is what I understood from it.

A quick question. How long does it normally take to have Hold on immunization removed after one submits the required information and document?

It took about 10 or 11 days for my immunizations hold to be removed. I am still waiting for eValue hold to be removed though.

I just read the email about Evalue from Sharron, does she mean that the flu vaccine isn't required at all?

I took it as its not required for summer but once fall comes we will need to get one for new flu season. If you had flu shot for this flu season you can upload but not required...
