Anyone????? besides me waiting on that interview letter for nursing school to come already?????????????? :plsebeg: Have you completed all your pre-reqs? what cha got left? care to share your GPA?
I am in the works of completeing my last pre-req...Physiology sooo far its been my fav. class its better than anatomy. GPA 3.5 microbio and physio not inlcuded. (I wish I didn't suck at comp. 1 I got a C in that class you guys!)
I emailed Debbie (she's the head hancho of the program. They are very good at replying like a minute later to your emails :typing and also very good at answering all phone calls) I asked about how I should go about registering for the TEAS entrance exam...she said on the same day you do your interview you also take the TEAS exam!
WHAT??? is what I thought to myself sooo...I basically have till the month of April to study for that sucker!
I really wasn't planning on getting a blackberry, unless I needed it for school. I doubt I'd ever really use it for anything else. I'm just due for a upgrade and I really, really want a phone with a keyboard. :) Thanks for the offer though!
What do you think the chances are of the letters going out tomorrow? My friends and family are sooooo tired of hearing me stress about the letter!
Honestly i got my letter of acceptance like 1-2 months before school started. (Id lean more towards like 30-40 days) sooo your still a far ways before the fall starts haha but yeah we applied for different semesters so who knows!
And trust me.. my brother and family and friends heard me complain everyday for like 2 months about that letter haha
No..I didn't apply for the accelerated program because I wanted to work also to make a little money to pay for rent...Yea..applying to seven schools was not a good thing to do because when you actually look at everything..it makes it difficult to choose.
So how much would you say your tutition is?
Yea..the reason why I asked about the PDA is because I'm not a big "book carrying" person..for classes at A&M I just take a notebook and pen..but I guess I would have to start taking books to classes now :)
I hope I don't have to wait another month for my acceptance letter..I wish they could just tell us by email..that would be alot better
Oh yea.. now I remember what I was going to ask..I'm in the process of buying a new computer for school and was wondering if ya'll actually use laptops alot in school ?
I think tuition was around 3200 give or take 100 bucks for 13 hours. It includes a membership to the gym they are building (Taking forever by the way) but its supposedly gonna be nice haha
And books? pshh you dont really have to bring them to class at all (other than skills lab)... All i ever do is bring the printout of the powerpoints and my laptop (which i dont use in class) I just keep books in my locker and really i only open like 2 books out of like the 10 we were supposedly were gonna use...
The laptops alot of people use! I dont really use mine but i always see people on them procrastinating or actually taking notes i kinda just stick to the printout b/c it helps me retain stuff by actually writing it down. haha I use my laptop when i study or when im really bored in lecture!
LOL..are you procrastinating now or are you really bored with studying? LOL
Thats good to know though..I thought it was going to be like 20,000 dollars per year .. but man..was I off!
How much does a parking permit cost over at UTHSCSA? And what are the normal ranges of times that you are at school... do yall go straight 8 - 4 everyday?
Eh im done studying for it.. the test isnt until the week after next :-p
I'll chip away at it day by day...
20k probably with tuition/rent/food/gas/bills probably for the 2 semesters (I pull out like 11k for the semester haha but I don't work and having fun is costly :-p )
The parking ranges... i think i paid 50-60 bucks for zone 4... which is like 100 yards away from school.. Zone 5 is cheaper and you have to take a shuttle to school and zone 3 is more expensive but your right by the door of the school! Zone 2 and 1 are for teachers and what not..

Skills lab vary from 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, 3pm-5pm (they just put you in a section)
Tuesday:
Clinical 6:30am-3:00pm (note there you never really stay the whole time depending on instructors.. there is also a night clinical and a saturday one also)

Your off day if you have clinical on tuesday
Thursday
3312 Pharm 9-12pm
3209 Prof nursing 1-3pm (unless you have the online class in which you only go to class 4 times a semester) i think she is quitting after the summer though

The program at Tamucc is 4 semesters long and takes approximately two years to complete just like usthsca. We do have to take a health alteration course this summer. It is very similar to pathophysiology. All the clinical sessions are done in corpus christi, but I have not come across alot of students who attend the program. I do like uthsca better. I do have some friends in their third semester who have nothing but praises for the program. One of my friends is a nurse practitioner whom I worked with at the VA hospital in houston. He recommended going to UTHSCA if i do get admission there. The waiting begins. IT is such a "torture" waiting for the acceptance letter.
Yea...see.. I never heard that much about the TAMUCC program either..so I've been if-ee about it..But if I get accepted to UTHSCSA that is probably where I'll go..
I know..its like that want to torture us by putting it off soooo late..It's probably a game to them :) you know .. see who last the pressure and who doesn't .. their probably laughing at us.. (LOL)
I just received this reply to another post about the acceptance/denial letters....
"I emailed the school a few days ago, and they replied pretty quickly to let me know that the committee would be getting together today, April 17, to decide, and that they would be mailing out letters next week. I try not to think about it, because otherwise I'd be getting nervous. Just continue with your daily routine, and hopefully you will get in."
So it sounds like they are making the final decisions today and that the letters should go out next week. AHAHAHAH!!!!
