UTHSC Houston - Summer 2016 Applicants

Hey everyone!

I couldn't find a thread for Summer 2016 that was active so I'm starting one here! I am also an applicant for Fall 2016 but I'm applying for both because the deadlines are close and I really want to go here!! :laugh:

So far I'm taking courses over the summer right now and going to finish my prerequisites this fall. I JUST finished the HESI exam today!!! Hope to hear from all of you soon :up:

I agree with @veganbunny for the most part on the AP section on the HESI. However, I did have 2 or 3 very particular questions on mine that threw me off. They asked me which particular muscle "blank" was and gave me four choices (muscles) to pick from. The thing was, it wasn't large, easy to remember muscles, but smaller ones so that threw me way off. I had 2 or 3 of those questions on mine too! I bet those were the 3 I missed.

My friend took hers a week or so after I did, and she said she had NO muscle questions whatsoever but she did have a couple on another system.

Other than that, the questions were pretty general, but make sure you review every system. Hope this helps.

I had one of those too. It asked what the longest mucsle was in the leg. Very very specific.

Hello everyone, I am also applying to UTSHC for Summer 2016. Does anyone know if they will take my Govt 2301 & 2302? I see they have a different Govt as a requirement

The AP section is very broad there is really no way study for this section. If you took AP 1&2 you should be fine. Its either you know it or you don't.

Have you checked their prerequisite transfer sheet? It shows which courses they accept from different colleges. If you aren't sure, I would call and ask the office.

GOVT changed from 2301 and 2302 about a year or maybe closer to 2 years ago to the new GOVT 2305 and 2306. They are actually the same classes, but for whatever reason they changed the codes on them. I took govt 2301 and when I got ready to take govt 2302, my school posted an announcement saying the code changed to 2306. So you should be fine☺️. They took mine.

FutureRNN - when I went to their info session in May they said they still accept Govt 2301/2301. You will be fine

What study guide did everyone use for the hesi?

Mostly the Elsevier study guide! And then I went online and took practice exams :cat:

Not sure about Fall 2016 but the deadline for Summer 2016 is December 2015.
