UTHSC Houston - Summer 2016 Applicants

Hey everyone!

I couldn't find a thread for Summer 2016 that was active so I'm starting one here! I am also an applicant for Fall 2016 but I'm applying for both because the deadlines are close and I really want to go here!! :laugh:

So far I'm taking courses over the summer right now and going to finish my prerequisites this fall. I JUST finished the HESI exam today!!! Hope to hear from all of you soon :up:

Does anyone know why the to do list still show transcript even though I submitted transcript by due date but? I submitted transcript by due date? when I called to registrar office during last fall semester, they said because I were taking class. Do I need to send them my new one? Also, I haven't received transcript evaluation too.

If you took a class last semester and it showed that it was in progress, then more than likely that is why you saw something on your to do list. Yes, resubmit your complete transcript with the course grade as soon as possible. Good luck

i have not heard a peep from the school at all, not a single email. my status has said application complete for sometime now.....is this a bad sign?

@failedmedschool -

we won't hear anything until the very end of February or start of March. This is when they start letting people know if they were accepted. The green circle says your application is complete, so there is nothing more to do except wait. My status says the same thing. Be patient, it will be 6 weeks before we find out anything; that's when the "first wave" of acceptance emails will go out.

From what I have seen, not everyone receives a transcript evaluation.

I have actually received two evaluations since my first evaluation contained two "NOs" for my psychology and sociology classes. I spoke with the registrar and those classes were later cleared and at that point I received another evaluation. I don't think you need to have one but you may want to call the registrar's office and ask.

I would like to know if anyone reading this knows if pathophys from TWU will transfer to UTHSC? It is an upper level biology course there. I called nursing student affairs and I was told it was basically up to the professor who teaches this to say that it is equivalent. I'm hoping that will be the case if I get into UTHSC. I was told to try to get this course out of the way so I am taking this class online right now. The class is an upper level biology course so I don't see why it wouldn't. Its 4 credit hours whereas the UTHSC pathophys is 3 credit hours. I'm hoping that will help too. If you have known anyone that has done that (have pathophys transfer in) - please let me know.

Aha! Thank you kktegan. What I was told, in being the professor's decision, now makes sense. I saw the top part of this form but did not scroll through the entire document. It appears as if it is possible to get credit for this since I'm sure it has happened before. Student affairs would not comment on whether the TWU course would transfer, but I wasn't told no either.

Correct. You will probably have to explain the course and what was taught, etc. I'm sorry I just posted the link and didn't explain. I had a long post typed out and accidentally deleted it. I'm tired hah
