Any UTHSCSA Accelerated BSN 2016 hopefuls that have started the application process?
hello, i am also applying. i graduated with a degree in history in 2011 and was in med school until june this year. i just finished 18 hours of pre reqs that i was missing today. however, i submitted my NursingCAS back in August O_O. I just had updated transcripts sent. I haven't heard anything from UTHSCSA at all. My gpa is like 3.6 and teas was 88.7. I am afraid that i am missing something on my application, or they won't want me because i was a med student. O_O

I failed out of med school after my 1st year
Thanks i did my 1st year twice (withdrew for depression). Always had barely passing grades, but this 1 point failure is the straw that broke the camels back. I don't blame them I was lucky enough to get in with a relatively low gpa and mcat. All the past 7 years are over and done with and it's back to square 1

I failed out of med school after my 1st year
Last day, last exam of the year and I came up 1 point short....changed a right answer to wrong failed the course by one point and my medical career is over. How will this look for the ad coms and peers? **** happens but I need to move on with my life. I can't see myself doing anything other than caring for sick people, and if that's without an MD I'm ok with that. I think I will be a better fit for nursing bc it was interacting with patients that drew me to medicine. Does anyone else know any failed med students that went to nursing, or have any advice? I'm applying to accelerated BSNs in my state. Thank you
