UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

I took my hesi on June 29th, and I still have a hold on my UTH portal. I called them yesterday and they told me that my scores will show up at the end of this month. I don't understand.

The woman at the info session said that for whatever month you take the HESI, all the scores that have been sent to the school of nursing the entire month are finally looked at by someone on the last day of that month. They're all compiled and then they get around to taking it off of your To Do list. For instance, I took mine on July 22nd, so on July 31st, someone at the SON brought up every single HESI score sent to them that month and started updating MyUTH for everyone. Mine was updated about a week ago. Unfortunately, if someone took the HESI on August 2nd, according to the woman who spoke to us, no one compiles the scores until August 31st :(

The woman at the info session said that for whatever month you take the HESI, all the scores that have been sent to the school of nursing the entire month are finally looked at by someone on the last day of that month. It's kinda depressing applying with a 3.45 overall, 4.0 science, and a 3.58 prereq, and my overall hesi score was an 86, I'm retaking it on Friday so hopefully my scores will be boosted up! I just hate seeing everyone freaking out when they have like 3.9 and 4.0 but I just have to have faith and see what happens!

Starts I just wan to be accepted so badly, which I know we all do! I wish it wasn't so competitive I work at a hospital right now and some of the nurses I work with i just think how and the world did they make it through any nursing program lol

Well that's a bummer because that is right before the deadline...lol Oh well guess we will have to wait and see or take a shot at calling every now and then to see if they can update! 2 more weeks and the deadline is here!!! Funny, but I actually think Ill be able to relax a little after that.

@tessthebest-when did you take V1? I took V1 last application period and had an 87% overall. I studied and took it again and brought it up to a 94.8%. You will do great and your scores are awesome! People with our stats get in all the time! Everyone is nervous, even the 4.0 students because we have seen that not all of them get in. It can go either way! :) GOOD LUCK!!

Ok so if someone were to take the test Sept 1st , they wouldnt receive it until Sept 31st? That's way passed the deadline.

They receive your scores immediately from Prometric testing sites. The woman explained that they won't look at them until the last day of the month. Everyone should try and take their test by late August at the latest! I wouldn't even take it on the 31st though, to be safe. It's cutting it too close.

Courtney, did you take your Hesi exam at a prometric location? Cause I took is June 29, and it's still on my to do list. Please help

Hello dee1388, For the vocabulary section I went on quizlet.com and took as many exams as possible. Type in hesi a2 vocab. For the math, reading, and grammar read the hesi evolve book. For the a&p, I would recommend Readyforthehesi .com extremely helpful. Hope this helps, and good luck!

I did. So, I have no clue why yours is still not updated. That would be a legitimate reason to call the SON. Or find a senior analyst's number and call him/her. They pick up all the time!
