This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Yay OUTERSIM!!! Look for the UTHSC SON Class of May 2013 on facebook. I do not think they are close to being done. We have about 34 or so students on the facebook. Not sure of the exact number because some are current students. I know not everyone is on facebook but I believe there are more hold changes to come!!!!
My UTlink says the following "You have been admitted to the program for the term shown above." Does that mean I am in? I have holds for residency and background check. I don't mean to sound dumb but I have gotten no email and don't want to jump the gun. I applied at TWU also and did not make the cut first round. Which I thought was weird. My GPA is 3.7 overall, 89 TEAS, 92 Hesi and all first time A's in sciences. Hoping the best for everybody. Last name begins with H.

And yes....there are a few on FB that are still trying to decide between schools. Everyone hang in there!!!!
Im on the same boat As I pay attention to other accepted applicants' stat, all of them have their HESI score 90> and some of them dont have a 4.0 gpa. As my assumption, they are more likely looking at those who have a GPA of 3.5> (in range) with a high HESI score. If they are only half way done, I believe u will get in.
here is my stat 3.95, 4.00, 3.75 and hesi 87. just dont give up :) HOPE still there.
I have a perfect 4.000 in every college class I've EVER TAKEN. I've never dropped or retaken a class. I have all of the prereqs completed. I have a 92.8% HESI score. I have an Associate of Science Degree Summa cum Laude as an Honor's Scholar with Distinction. I have volunteer experience at Memorial Hermann. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society. I'm a certified EKG Monitoring Technician, so I already know how to read and handle EKGs. I literally did absolutely everything I can to have THE PERFECT APPLICATION just because I wanted to get into this school. It sucks so bad because I've wanted this more than anything else in my life up to this point, and it STILL seems like I'm not good enough. So if we don't get accepted, I honestly feel like this school really doesn't deserve to have the bright students we are. There are alot of other people out there like us from what I'm reading, so we just have to be patient and hope for the best.
I only applied to UTMB and UTHSC though because I really thought I'd get into one or the other, but it looks like I won't be getting into either one now.
i understand the frustration but its not over.... despite the fact that they might be missing out on potentially great nurses im sure the people who were accepted so far will also be great nurses too. there just isnt enough spots.
Hey guys, I am equally as frustrated. I have great stats, 97% on the Hesi, and have BS/MS degree's... and nothing yet. Just have to keep in mind that the process is not over yet, and be positive. Lament when there is something worth lamenting. Just think, if other individuals with "lower" stats that you have been accepted... you probably will be too. Peace.
