This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Good luck to everyone!!
MY HOLDS CHANGED!! :balloons:
Kristin CONGRATS!!!!! So exciting! Would you mind letting us know what your last name is. Can anyone tell I'm really trying to hold to the alphabetical order thing?
Oh ya - congrats to you too Jakebs! I know your last name is S but I'm sort of hoping that it is still MOSTLY alphabetical order.
darcyanddebussy: i'm in the same predicament as you. i haven't heard from uth yet, but i'm already in at twu, and i can't decide either.
the factors i am considering are:
housing (ut has it, twu does not)
phi theta kappa membership + scholarship opportunity (i can keep it at twu, not at ut)
whether or not i can get one of them to accept my pharmacology credit from lsc
i haven't visited uth, but i got a tour of twu (met the dean, etc) and everyone was super nice and the sim labs were incredible. i would really like to go see uth to see if i get the same vibe, but i got that tour out of sheer luck.
uth goes through the summer so i would finish 7 months earlier, but twu gives me breaks to plan my august wedding and get a cna job for experience.
their attendance costs and nclex pass rates are roughly the same, so i'm not really considering those two.
hope this helps!
anyone else considering additional criteria? if so, what?
congrats to everyone so far!
edit: my holds changed!!!!!!!!!!!!! woooooohooooooo!
last name s!
