This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Good luck to everyone!!
Just wanted to say something since I've noticed that diversity discussions on the internet tend to deteriorate into conspiracy theories - and I need you guys! No one else seems to get just how very much I want to go into nursing.
Saw a sign in front of a house the other day. "Nurses parking only. All others will be needled." Made me smile.

hey everyone so i checked my utlink and it says i have a hold on my account for application fee and current CPR hold, ive left messages and emails as to how i can get these holds taken off...do you think I should just go there and show them the documentation and pay the fee instead of waiting on them to contact me since theyre probably swamped.......AND since i didnt pay for the application fee before the deadline does that mean i didnt meet the requirements?!?!?!?!

you sound like really chill chick golden
I think we all have the CPR training and immunization holds. They have to be taken care of before you enter the program - not before you are accepted. I'm taking a CPR class in October at St. Luke's through the Junior League if anyone wants to join me.
When they talk about your holds changing as a sign of acceptance, they mean that several additional holds show up - such as a background check.
So, no worries.

No offense to anyone but I'm a black female and I thought I would have a harder time getting in because of my 'ethnic' name. But all in all, I think my chances of getting in are great and it doesn't have anything to do with my race.
