This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
Good luck to everyone!!
@ MasterGLB, that's better than what I've got! I'll trade you! LOL! I'm sure there will be someone that either doesn't take their spot or, for whatever reason, won't be able to start in Jan. & you'll be in! At this point I'm just waiting on my denial letter. I just wish I knew what it was that kept me out so I could fix for the Fall. I'll be applying again to UTHSC as well as a few other schools....and if it's meant to be then it will happen. Best of luck to everyone who made it, and to those who didn't don't give up! Everything happens for a reason! So, I'm done obsessing over this school, and on to be thankful for everything that is right in my life! God Bless! :hrnsmlys:
Ok, so maybe pessimism wasn't the best response.
@ Andyav: I received an email from an admission councelor. I did respond to her, thanking her, and stating that I definitely want to stay on the list. Good news is, she returned my email, saying that there are only 15 people on the waitlist. So far, 2 or 3 on this thread have said that they will not be attending UTHSC, so that is 2 or 3 hopeful chances
So, PEOPLE, IF YOU'VE BEEN ACCEPTED, and DON'T WANT TO ATTEND UTHSC, PLEASE SEND YOUR DENIAL LETTER/RESPONSE ASAP!!! I would really appreciate the chance at going to this school, it's been a long time coming.
Peace,
-G
Hey guys! I'm applying for the Fall 2012 BSN program but I've been following your posts and I am not looking forward to having to go through this waiting process in the near future! I have a question though: Were you guys interviewed or had they already stopped that process? My stats are pretty high and I have medical experience but now I'm wondering how they do pick who they accept because so many of you have such high scores too! I just wonder how they pick from so many qualified applicants??
@texasnursedude, I'm really confused if you don't get in because you can't get more perfect than your stats!
Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! I know your super excited, I hope I'm in your shoes in the near future!!

WELL, I got waitlisted. ***... I know my stats were higher than people that were accepted. Kudos to those who got in, but lord knows what the hell the admission's committee is looking for. This sucks. Going drinking
