Greetings!
I am applying to UTHSC Houston - Fall 2013. Anybody else?
So I took my HESI today, and I am not happy at all. I scored above decently (93 english total and 85 CT) in all of the sections EXCEPT A&P, I got a 72 in that. I have NO IDEA what happened because I studied the HESI study guide thoroughly and even used another book to prep and I was making 90-95% on a&p practice tests. I've even taken the TEAS and got an 85 on the science section of that..
For those that have retaken it:
Will I be able to reschedule before the January 15 deadline (I've read somewhere there is a 90 day waiting period through the prometic website)?
And also, do I even stand a chance now of getting in? I have a pretty decent GPA..
3.75 overall with biology major credits from U of H
3.89 pre-req
3.9 science (with only one A&P lab missing)
Hi everyone,
I am scheduled to take my Hesi exam on Jan 19 and started studying already. I have as a review the evolve study guid and just ordered the book of Fundamentals Success: A Q&A Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking (Davis's Success). What do you all think is this a good study guide for the critical thinking section? I am nervous and would like to know if anyone can share some tips. Any advice would be greatly appreciate it.

According to Prometric's FAQ, you would have to contact UT to see if there is a waiting period. Prometric states that retesting time period is up to the institution.
I heard from the info session that about 100 out of 800 get in---but they said only about 400 of those 800 actually had turned in everything they needed to for a complete application.
Thanks for the info! That's a pretty decent number that is accepted. 800 applicants and about half of those are incomplete? Hmmm...I will have to double check everything now. I would assume that if your UT to do list is complete your application should be complete as well right?
Yeah I believe that if your to do is is complete then your application is complete. I think you should be able to see on the "Admissions Status" in your UTH that it says the application is complete as well.
@Joey2015, I sure hope you're not applying for Fall 2013, because you're HESI scores would be late for the application date of January 15... And you're on the right tract with the Fundamentals Success book.
And thanks PH23, I just registered successfully for Jan. 31st so no problems there, I just had to wait a while to get the confirmation email that evolve sends.
And now I'm sort of remembering hearing a question at the information session about how long you had to wait between retakes, and I'm pretty sure the admissions counselor said there was no waiting period... which I guess is true!
Hi guys! I'm also applying for Fall 2013. I just took the HESI today, was disappointed with the AP section, it was kind of tough! Is everyone done with their prereqs? I still have 5 courses left that I'm taking in spring: micro/hist2/engl2/phil/art, but done with about 45 credits.
Science GPA 4.0
Overall GPA 4.0
HESI Overall 91%
AP 84%
Grammar 94%
Vocab 92%
Reading 88%
Math 100%
CT 870
Hi guys! I'm new to this website. So I took the HESI Exam today and am pretty bummed out with my scores. Idk if I ruined my chances of getting in for the Fall. Math 98%, Reading Comp 92%, Grammar 98%, Vocab 68%, A&P 80%, and Critical Thinking 720 My Pre-req GPA is 3.52 Science GPA: 4.0 (A&P 1, Chem) I still need to take A&P 2, Microbiology, and philosophy... From everything I've read, there's a lot of gray area in determining who gets in and who doesn't. It's frustrating!!

Speaking of the HESI, I know everyone says to use the Fundamentals Success book (which I have), but its kind of a big book... I've gone through and picked out which sections I thought were most applicable, but for any who have used Fundaments Success, which sections did you find most helpful for the HESI?
