UTHSC-Houston Fall 2012 Applicants

Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:

Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75

Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0

Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.

My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -

Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30

Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! :crying2: )

Overall Gpa: 3.28

Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.

My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.

Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!

BTW, no green check for me yet. I have a feeling I'll be getting a denial letter in the mail Monday.

Hey everyone!

First, I would like to congratulate everyone that has been accepted :yeah:. I know you deserve it for working so hard. I decided to join in and put my stats into the pool. I have a 3.66 GPA overall and I think around 3.8 for sciences. I do not know for sure how UT calculated my GPA because I did not receive a transcript evaluation... On top of that my holds never changed :eek:. I'm sure all of you can see why I'm getting a little worried. On my admission status I have the yellow triangle... I am calling it the Bermuda Triangle because I am beginning to fear seeing it every time I log in. Under my holds I have nothing listed and all I have on my to do list is to send in my final transcript. So, not much going on on my myUTH. UTHSC also has not contacted me about anything (mail, email, or phone). I scored a 90 on my HESI with a 880 CT. Congrats Hemphia and mandorojo!!! Hemphia, you give me hope because like you, I have had no holds. My to-do list just has official transcript because I'm currently taking my last 5 classes and one of the ladies in administration said it would say that on my to-do list until the end of this semester when I send my final transcript. But, she did say everything else was complete on my application. This was back in January when I spoke with her.

@Phanlange_Angie, if it said accepted and had an option to accept/decline and you said it told you that you were accepted, then I'm sure you were! Are you currently taking any classes needed for the program? If so, then that's why you have an incomplete(yellow triangle) on your status. The acceptance is contingent on you finishing the classes and getting a C or better in them before the Fall. Your status will have a green circle and say complete when you have finished all your classes. At least, thats what I was told from them!

my status has changed to a green check mark, im admitted!! i really hope that this is forreal! I am in total and complete shock! I do not have any hold changes and my to do list still looks the same as it has the whole time! Congrats to all those that have been accepted and goodluck to everyone still waiting to hear!:)

No holds, no changes. No nothing. I never received a transcipt eval. Never.

I called and spoke with someone today; she told me whether I received an eval or not does not hinder my application. She further explained that they send out more than 100 evals per day and get 20 back for various reasons.

Doesn't really make me feel any better.

My stats:

3.87 overall

4.0 science

92 Hesi

840 CT

When I check my status about 11:00am this morning, it still showed a yellow triangle, but I checked it at 5:00pm, it turned to yellow mark, I was admitted!!! Unexpected!!! also there is still no any hold, no any transcript eval. Received, and my last name starts with H, so you guys don't be frustrated, keep waiting until last second.

No, I'm not taking classes. Actually, I did my Associate in Science from HCC a looooong time ago. I also studied for Respiratory Therapy over there, so my classes are all complete. I feel in limbo right know. I kinda wanna call to say that I can go pick up the letter myself!
