Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.
Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!
In my case the transcript evaluation was a crucial packet! I am a fresh start applicant and my transcript did not reflect that! I am not scrambling to get it fixed before I go on the chopping block! UGH!!!! After the many phone calls and emails I was ASSURED that it would be processed correctly and as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, it wasn't done properly! I will be calling and hounding the registrar's office until it is fixed and I have proof in my hands!
Try not to stress. I remember from the last Information Session I attended, overall GPA was not a factor in determining admission. So if it's your overall GPA that is of concern, it probably will not affect you at all. However, if your science or prereq GPA is seriously affected, then definitely get on it and demand immediate correction.
It begs the question, though, how soon do they choose who to admit before sending out notifications? In all reality, they may have made a decision by now. Or perhaps this board is finalizing its admission list.
Gsus.... this happened to me. I would suggest you email them and let them know. I tried calling when I handled it and it seemed it was handled immediately when I sent an email.
Thanks, glad to hear that someone else was able to get this resolved...
Who would you recommend that I email? The Program Directors or the Student Affairs office??
I sent my email to [email protected] .. I just mentioned which class it was, gave my name, and student ID. I received a response back within 15 minutes and an udated evaluation was sent.
