Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.
Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!
So I spoke to somebody at UTHSC and she told me that they have their approximate number of applicants for Fall 2012. She said 700! I don't know if that is the applicants that meet the requirements or the total number received, but it still sounds good to me I have a slightly better chance!! Yay :) But I am still going to the info session on 2/23.
That's about what I was expecting ... everyone always says there are more applicants in the Fall. I was preparing for 1800-2000 applicants! Now we are just looking at a small fraction of that! Waahoooo!
Glad I could be the bearer of good news :) I sure hope that he lady was right!! I'll get for sure info in a couple of weeks time. I'm sure if that is the # it has to be the number of eligible applicants...... Good luck 2 us all!!
I went to an open house last year and it was super casual! The president of that current class came to speak to us and they had on khaki shorts, flip flops and a Bart Simpson T-shirt! (No I'm not kidding) So I think you should be good!
I went to an open house last year as well and the attire was casual comfy. Basically wear anything you want, just don't come dressed like your going clubbin afterwards lol I am looking forward to the 23rd..... I am ready to get some information :)
