Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.

They send you an eval to make sure YOU know that you haven't completed all your courses yet. You'll get one regardless of whether you're still completing pre-reqs or not.
okay so you guys I still havent gotten an evaluation and its starting to worry me. I called the registrar the other day and she explained to me that the nursing school and the registrar operate differently. the registrar basically gets all the ingredients needed for your application to be complete and sends it to the school of nursing. The school of nursing then asks the registrar to evaluate your transcript if they want to see your pre reqs and science gpas. the registrar does that and sends it back to the SON. then SON has the option to send it to you or not and the registrar is then one that sends it out to you.
i still havent gotten which probably means i will not be accepted cause it seems like everyone has gotten one accept me
Meghana09,You are not alone! I have not received an evaluation either. I'm not losing hope anytime soon! They have a ton of applications to process so it might just take a while. Hang in there!
All righty this makes me feel a little better! Thanks you guys. HOpedully, we will all get ours soon and also get accepted! My mind is so wrapped around getting into this school that I have dreams every night about getting my acceptance letter haha...
@Meghana09...hopefully this will ease your mind a bit...my evaluations for the fall application period were printed one month after the application deadline and I received them about a week or so later. Allow them at least a few more weeks before you panic too much! :) Hope this helps some!
I honestly think that the evaluations are going out based on the date that you applied. I applied and submitted my application around Nov 19th...... So technically it has taken them 2+ months to get me mine. Dont sweat it
