UTHSC-Houston BSN Summer 2013

While I'm part of the discussion forum for the UTHSC-Houston fall 2013, I couldn't see any discussion forum for the summer 2013 entry that I decided to create a new thread. I have applied both for the summer and fall, 2013 at UTMB and UTHSC. I have submitted all my application documents to both schools and I'm patiently waiting for interview/decision. Anyone in the same situation?

Ya'll be positive! I am exactly like that...I made a 92 on HESI...850 CT 3.5 pre req GPA because of some bad scores from 15 years ago! 4.0 science GPA. I was put on wait list for Spring...never got the call...then was called a few weeks ago for summer start!!! I was soooooo happy! And it all worked out for the best as I have a lot going on between now and May so I am able to enjoy some time with kids before the craziness begins! I am getting on facebook now to find the group. Can't wait to meet those who start in May....it will be a tough but rewarding road ahead. To those who are waiting....I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. Hang in there!!![/quote']

I agree, I also got accepted for the summer after being on the spring waiting list. Don't give up! You got this!

First, congratulations to those who have got acceptances and a lot of strength for those waiting for acceptance news! While patiently waiting to hear for acceptance and checking MyUTH almost on a daily basis, today I saw an Admissions Hold just above my to do list. I called both the registrar and also the School of Nursing and they told me that it is because I still have three more courses (CHEM, HIST I and HIST II) to complete. Has anyone had the same issue?

I called both the registrar and also the School of Nursing and they told me that it is because I still have three more courses (CHEM, HIST I and HIST II) to complete. Has anyone had the same issue?

I was told by the registrars office that you status will say incomplete until you have either been accepted or have finished those courses. She also told me that you might even get your acceptance but your status might still stay the same because you are still in courses and they are waiting on your completed/final transcript.

I finally got my transcript eval last week and things were a bit messed up - mostly because they didn't account at all for for my fall classes.

I've sent emails to admissions and soninfo with no response and have left messages on the machine for the "BS Student adviser" the phone robot directs you to, but no call back. I'm too busy to chase these people down! How did you get a hold of anyone at UTHSC-H??

What would be the best way to study for the HESI?

If you go to readyforthehesi.org and purchase their study guide, it really really helped for anatomy and physiology. HESI also has their own study guide which I found helpful for math

Hi Kimbers2882, Yes, you are right, the incomplete is going to stay there as long as the transcript you submit indicates you are still enrolled in a class. to my understanding, it is going to stay there until we submit the very last transcript after the spring, 2013 semester. I was actually asking about the hold 9not the incomplete) just above the admission status. Since last Friday, I see an Admissions Hold. I was just wondering if any one has such an Admissions Hold.

Oh I see... sorry for the misunderstanding. I haven't seen that or heard anyone talk about that on any of the previous blogs. Interesting to know why it is there??

Kittybitties congrats on getting a transcript eval so far. I would say that is a step in the right direction... I'm hoping to get something... anything... soon! This is very nerve wrecking!! You are also right, it is a HUGE pain to get in touch with anyone over there!! I wouldn't even bother calling the admissions office or the advisors, I would call the registrars office. They will definitely help you out.

Maybe that means you've basically been admitted, but they need to verify courses you might currently be taking after you finish them? That's just my guess, though.

Received my transcripts evaluation in the mail. Of the 60 credit hours prerequisite courses required, 50 of them are correctly evaluated. I'm left with 10 credit hours which I'm currently taking. I hope that this is a step in the right direction.
