Hello friends!
I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:
A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)
I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!
Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?
Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!!
I emailed Joann Mendoza about my concerns regarding my transcripts being evualuated incorrectly twice and she actually called me back immediately. I was concerned that the errors made by the registrar pushed my application back and that my application wasn't considered in the initial selection. She assured me that was not the case and that even though I have a 4.0 GPA and made a 93.6 on the Hesi they chose other students. I asked her what the selection process was since it doesn't seem to actually be based on stats, I know of several people who have lower GPA and Hesi scores than I do and we're accepted while I am waitlisted. She told me she could not disclose that information. So it remains a mystery...
Hello KeyP,
Some college allow for priority registration, or at least HCC does. Maybe that's how Wickedstar does it.
I hope you don't need the class for mini semester. As far as i know, most of the college only offer 3 credit hours class for mini semester and state rule also limit the hours student can take to only 3, unless there is exceptional reason. So i highly doubt there will be any 4 hrs credit class for you to sign up for...
I wish they would've sent out rejections letters to the people that had no chance of getting in. At least that would put a lot of people at peace and they could move on to the next step. I never received an evaluation and I'm doubtful they will give a reason for a rejection. I wish I could at least get that so I know what I'm lacking in. My scores fit in right with everyone else, and I meet all the criteria. Well it will all be over next week
@jennmv no my dear i didnt have any luck. I reached out to the professor and she said that she knows for sure that i cannot register for her class because its for fall 2016. Next class she offers is in january..but thats also when the nursing program is supposed to start... so i keep hoping but so far nothing yet.
