Hello friends!

I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:

  • Current GPA -- science & overall
  • Requirements needed to apply
  • HESI test requirements
  • Applications -- status or general info
  • Acceptance!

A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)

I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!

Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?

Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!! :inlove:

I just spoke to Joann Mendoza regarding BSN pacesetter spring 2017 acceptance and she stated that acceptance that were sent out was for RN-BSN program. Pacesetter decisions has NOT been sent out yet and will be address on Nov 15th. With everyone who recieved an acceptance email/via UT portal , mentioning their stats and prior experience does not seem to be RN's with an AA degree. I am totally confused í ½í¸’

I bet they just have a computer where they put in all of the applicants names, and the computer chooses the applicants at random.

Yeap, that's my conclusion.

im ready for the next episode of the walking dead. Who's with me??

give me a battle cry!

Hey, you applied to the Pacesetter BSN or RN-BSN program?

You mean the transcript evaluation? If you have not recieved one, there's no way to know if they have completed one for you or not. You'd have to call and ask for one. I had to actually go up to the school and ask for mine in person because they never did it when I called. Mine was just done last week on October 25. And I found out I was waitlisted October 21. I can't help but think that had I gone up there sooner, that I would be accepted right now instead of waitlisted.

Good luck.

Did you apply to pacesetter or RN-BSN program?

Guys has anybody gotten the admitted student day invitation letter? Even those that are waitlisted? i got wait listed yet i received an invitation to the "admitted students" event.

Ya, you aren't the only one totally confused...what the hells bells?????

I applied for the Pacesetter BSN program.

Hello guys,

Before getting accepted, I went through about 3-4 old threads on AllNurse for previous applications cycles, and I learned that UTHealth application process is pretty random.

The accepted GPA range from 3.2 - 4.0, and accepted Hesi score from 84 upwards. I've seen people with GPA as low as 3.2 get accepted, and I have seen people with 4.0 and high Hesi got denied. Some people received transcript evaluation but still get denied, and some people (me included) never received transcript evaluation but still got accepted anyway, so don't lament on your transcript evaluation too much. And no i don't think they look at your previous Bachelor nor job or volunteer time, cause a lot of people i know have none of those.

If the FB group is any indication, we only have 39 members so far. UTHealth suppose to accept 120 people this cycle, so I believe there will be another wave of acceptances. The previous cycle (Fall 2016) didn't heard any news until exactly the announce date, UT health just send them all at once in one day with all rejected, accepted and waitlisted . So please just keep your finger crossed.

I received this and when i opened it-it said congratulations on your acceptance at UTHSC nursing school and then i received another email about scolarships. I don't know if that means I was accepted. Btw I was on the waitlist.
