UTHealth Cizik Summer 2021 - BSN

Hello everyone! 

I've been looking around for a UTH - Pacesetter BSN forum for Summer 2021; haven't found one so I'm going to start one here! This forum is for anyone applying for or just curious about the Summer 2021 application cycle (deadline Jan 15th, 2020). If anyone has any questions, concerns, worries, or anything they'd like to share during the process then you've found the right place! We're here to help each other out. Best of luck!

Hi!. Are you going to apply again? Fall will be my fourth time applying and I have never been waitlisted. I'm just so sad that I will be denied, yet again ugh I hate this... literally have no control over my future.

Yes you do don’t say that! Please don’t put all your eggs in one basket try applying to other programs in the Texas area like for right now I know schools still open are: ADN; Tarrant county college, Alvin College, San Jac, HCC, Lonestar, for BSN: I think Lamar and UH not sure the rest. But not all hope is lost! It will be alright

Yes! There are still colleges! You may have to change your course and go to school longer, but if you will get your degree if you really want it. I didn’t make the waitlist either, but you gotta have a backup plan or multiple back up plans. You will be a RN just like anyone that went to Cizik or anywhere else. We all will take the same test and the program won’t matter. So apply to more than one and don’t waste anymore time.

Oh yeah ofc! I have been applying to multiple schools and even some out of state... still getting the same results lmao but thank you, I'm going to look into TCC and San Jac. ?

Yeah I'm not just applying to one school or just BSNs. I appreciate the advice though... *computer hug* ?

Just got waitlisted LOL. This is my 3rd time being waitlisted. GREAT.

Tbh I don't know the algorithm they use to determine who they accept, waitlist and decline but I can vehemently say it ain't stats.

from what I’ve read, they mainly look at your HESI score and your GPA (please correct me if I’m wrong), and they’ll pick and choose kind of like a lottery system. it’s weird.

I can't say for certain how its done, but we've heard alot of things, cant even distinguish the truth from the lies anymore, but I guess its a game of luck, we might as well just be playing lottery to see if we are lucky enough to hit the jack pot. Smfh

For future reference, acceptances went out Tuesday, March 16 (deadline for their fall apps was the 15th). They were sent around 1:00ish I believe, and more around 4:30pm- both on the same day. It didn't appear to be in alphabetical order, and it was a mix of those with finished prereqs and in progress. People were updated through their portals and emails, however some people who received an email did not have their portals updated so this was odd. From what we know, Tuesday seemed to be the only day of acceptances, and waitlists went out Monday the 22nd around 4:50 pm via email. Everything about this round of notifications is so different than the previous semesters, since they only sent out acceptances in one day rather than in waves across 3 days. I hope this helps to those who are applying in the future, good luck to everyone on their nursing journey whether it's with UTH or any other nursing school!

I have a 3.5 overall, 3.5 science & 95.6 HESI.
