Hi,
I opened this for those who apply for Sping 2022 at UTHealth Cizik School of Nursing Pacesetter program.
I plan to take my HESI in May.

I believe you don’t need to unless you took another class or retook a class. If your transcript is the same from the last time you applied I do not think you need to resend it.
Hello! I am also applying for Spring 2022! I noticed all the other semesters, the threads were a lot more active. I wonder if our Spring 2022 there will be a lot of applicants too then.
I am nervous because reading the other threads make me question if I could get in. I will be taking 2 prerequisites in the Fall term, but would be finished before the Spring semester starting. I have finished all my science prerequisites though. I wonder if it would lower my chance then since I am not fully done with my prerequisites? On their info page it says they only require 40 but I just don’t know how they pick their applicants.
Then I also heard if the sciences classes are taken at HCC they also look down on it? Just trying to clarify some of the rumors.
My HESI score was 94 overall and scored 90+ on all sections.
Prerequisite GPA: ~3.65 Science GPA: 3.75
I really hope my stats are OK. Also, do they check total cumulative GPA…because my cumulative isn’t good due to my poor choices when I was younger.
Spring and Summer semesters receive less apps than the Fall, but it has been eerily quiet compared to previous years. Maybe COVID is off-putting people?
I am also nervous because I'm in a similar spot. I have some rough grades from a couple years back but did well afterwards with pre-reqs and have a high HESI. Based on the presentation held earlier this year, your stats are competitive for admissions. Still, nobody knows for sure goes on behind closed doors. Fwiw, the BSN admissions criteria keeps in mind "constantly improving undergraduate record."
Hey guys!
I just took my HESI today! While the actual testing experience was a nightmare (got booted from prometric nearly 8 times and started my test 2 hours late because of it), I managed to score a 91.6! Not exactly what I was aiming for, but I think I’ll take it. Nervous to see if I get accepted or not. My cumulative GPA is a 3.83 but all sciences/nursing pre reqs are a 4.0.

Congrats. What did you use to study and how long did you study for? Any area of focus or difficulty? I am taking mine next week. Thank you

I heavily relied on NurseHub for the majority of the test. It really helped me refresh in anatomy since I’ve been out of school for the past year. I didn’t seriously start studying until about two weeks ago. None of it was extremely hard honestly! My anatomy questions were mainly AP 1 content. Math was pretty basic, but make sure you know conversions. Vocab and grammar was also pretty simple. And I didn’t study for reading whatsoever. I will say, I wasn’t allowed scratch paper for some reason…which made the math portion extremely annoying. I also didn’t have a timer on my test to really know how long I had left on the exam. And once you submit your answer, you can’t go back. There’s no skipping around or reviewing answers at the end. Those are some things I wish I would have known ahead of time! Good luck! ?

Did you take your test in person or at home? Also was your HESI $120? I've seen online that the HESI ranged from 30-70 dollars.
I don't see how I can do the math portion without paper

I took it at home through Prometric for $120. They gave me a “digital scratchpad” for the math section. Basically just a blank word document that you can type anything down. It was a giant pain, I’ll be honest. It definitely slowed me down.

Try and see if your school lets you take the HESI through them. I go to Lone Star and they partner with proctorU. I took the test online at home for $70 and I used my own scratch paper.
