UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Spring 2020

I thought I'd start this feed now. I applied in January. I know I'm early but I'm not much of a procrastinator. I just retook my Hesi and got a 89.2.. I feel I need to take it over but, some people are saying they don't even know UT's selection process. Can anyone enlighten me on that?

I have been rejected 3 times now. The first time I was disappointed but knew most people don't get in on their first try so I picked my head up and reapplied. The second time was the most difficult. The third time I tried not to focus on it because I knew all three times others got in with lower stats than myself and therefore it was not because I didn't qualify. Still extremely difficult because I am on a major time limit.. Just praying hard and trying to apply to as many schools as I can this time and keeping my options open. Goos luck and don't take it personally.

Hi everyone! Did anyone else’s HESI include the Chemistry and Biology section? Does it have an impact on our overall score?

Those sections appear when you sit for the exam but they are not required to be taken for UT so you can skip them and just do the sections required for UT

Oh my gosh I did not know that! I have taken the HESI twice with both of those sections because I thought I had to. Does anyone know if it will impact my acceptance?

It will not change their decision on your acceptance

UT is the only one I applied to that uses the HESI, everywhere else I applied to uses the TEAS

@Asotam(PVAMU)Prairie View, and (HBU)Houston Baptist University. University of St Thomas also accepts Hesi. These BSN programs are the ones I know of, will apply to the first two after my summer classes.

hey guys, is anyone applying to texas A and M university for nursing? and also i have a GPA of 3.47 right now and a hesi of 92, but I'm trying to wait till the second summer is over so i can submit my transcript with a better GPA, what do you guys think?

I cannot for the life of me find the old thread for Spring 2019! I am trying to look back at it to see around when decisions started going out. I believe it was October/November but I wanted to look back to be sure. Can anyone else find that thread?

Wow, thanks for finding that so quickly! I'm not sure why I couldn't find it when I was searching. In case anyone else is a planner like me and likes to know things well in advance, here is what I found in the thread:

Monday, October 22 acceptances went out in the afternoon

Tuesday, October 20 waitlist emails went out in the afternoon

Tuesday, November 6 denials went out

Hopefully, ours will follow a similar date range. I am registered to retake two courses specifically for UT, they start October 21st, so I am hoping if I hear back in time about an unfortunate denial I can drop the classes and save myself some money!
