UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Spring 2020
Updated: Published
I thought I'd start this feed now. I applied in January. I know I'm early but I'm not much of a procrastinator. I just retook my Hesi and got a 89.2.. I feel I need to take it over but, some people are saying they don't even know UT's selection process. Can anyone enlighten me on that?

If I understand their website correctly, I should be able to take the correct A&P courses during this fall semester. (Please let me know if this is incorrect) I am trying to confirm this with an admission advisor.
I know that labs cannot be taken online, so I am looking for somewhere that offers the lecture portion online and lab in class if possible. I also plan on taking these at the same time (if this an issue with the college, I will hopefully get it waived because I have already taken an A&P class, have a previous degree, and scored well on the HESI)
Or do you know of somewhere that offers these as 8 wk courses?? I could take them in Houston or College Station.
Thanks!
Houston Community College offers lectures online and labs seperate on campus. I'd look pretty quick though as I am sure alot of classes could be full by now! And I would assume you will likely need to talk to someone at HCC to allow you to take them at the same time.
I am planning on applying for this application cycle as well! I'm just wondering if I should retake the HESI - I scored 93.6 overall but only 88 on AP (my lowest score) and know they mostly look at that one. I need to recalculate my gpas but I believe my total prereq GPA is ~3.8, science gpa ~3.6 or 3.7. I have a previous bachelor's degree and work in the med center. My last application did not include my straight A's for spring semester in AP 2 lecture & lab and micro lecture & lab. I wish they had an essay portion of the app. I don't like to brag, but I'm pretty impressed that I kept those grades despite my dad's tragic sudden death in March and working 50 hours a week.
Additionally, I was denied for Fall 2019 ?
Thank you!!!

Honestly if you can’t get in, I don’t know how anyone can

What other schools did you apply to? I thought there were only 3 main nursing schools in the Houston area?
First post for this hopefuls thread. My stats
PreReq GPA: 3.85
Science GPA: 4.00
HESI score: 90
AnP: 96
Math: 96
Vocab: 96
English: 86
Grammar: 78
No prior Bachelor Degree and an empty resume at 20 years old ?
Also, if my transcript on the "To-Do" in the Application portal has disappeared, does that mean that my transcript has been received? I don't have any more in-progress work for UT Health so I'm hoping that's that.
Hey everyone! I have been following along here but this is my first post. I submitted my application in July for the Pacesetter program and wondered if anyone knows when they complete official transcript evaluations? I looked through some of the last threads but couldn’t seem to find that. I got my BA in Education from a private university so a lot of my classes are named differently. I hoping I get mine in time to register for any classes that don’t transfer.

I went to the information session last month and asked the same question. I was told they start working on the transcript evaluations mid-August. We should be receiving them soon (hopefully)!! ?
Hi guys, here are my stats! They aren’t nearly as competitive, but if I don’t get accepted (a great possibility) then I’m applying for the Summer of 2020. Who else is planning on applying for the summer if not accepted?
Here are my stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.50
Science GPA: 3.56
HESI Composite Score: 86.8%
English - 82.67%
Anatomy & Physiology - 96%
Math - 90%
Good luck to everyone! ?
