UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Spring 2020
Updated: Published
I thought I'd start this feed now. I applied in January. I know I'm early but I'm not much of a procrastinator. I just retook my Hesi and got a 89.2.. I feel I need to take it over but, some people are saying they don't even know UT's selection process. Can anyone enlighten me on that?

Monday, October 22 acceptances went out in the afternoon
Tuesday, October 20 waitlist emails went out in the afternoon
Tuesday, November 6 denials went out
Hopefully, ours will follow a similar date range. I am registered to retake two courses specifically for UT, they start October 21st, so I am hoping if I hear back in time about an unfortunate denial I can drop the classes and save myself some money!
Where are you taking classes that start on October 21? Because this sounds like something I need to do!

Both HCC and DCCC offer second start 8 week courses! It's english 1301 and a music class I am signed up for, they're easy courses so I opted to sign up for the 8 week course instead of the traditional 16 weeks. But if I don't get into UT then I don't need to retake them and could save myself $600! So I'm hoping they let us know by 10/21 or sooner if we're lucky ?

@BlondeBSNHopeful Not unfortunate denial...but fortunate ACCEPTANCE lol!! Be hopeful and positive?
the hesi is really general mostly Ap1 I thought it was pretty easy. How was the teas I’m gonna take it soon?

Thank you for letting me know!! and The teas wasn't too bad! if anatomy is your weakest subject, I suggest thoroughly studying it, because that was my weakest subject too. The sections are similar to the hesi, except grammar and vocab were combined. With the teas, you're able to backtrack, like go back to other questions if you were ever stuck on one. Each session is timed and you can't go back to a section that you've previously worked on. I think just do the same studying you did with the teas and you'll be fine!

I recently gradated from Galveston College with an associates in transfer nursing with an overall GPA of 3.9 (I will forever have a hasty relationship with chemistry thanks for it ruining my 4.0 *sigh*)
I was accepted to Galveston College Nursing for the Fall 2019, but would much rather enter into a BSN program. I unfortunately was denied for UTMB Fall 2019 due to sending in the incorrect TEAS document. However, I did make an overall 85.3 on the test.
I am hesitant to have to study for the HESI since the TEAS were so grueling. Does anyone have any advice for taking the HESI?
Just curious what document you sent to UTMB for TEAS? Now I'm paranoid that I could have sent the wrong document...
