UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Fall 2019

Published

Hey everyone?!

Just wanted to start a forum to see if there are any other nursing student applicants for the Fall semester? I just applied, although, I know I will not get a response until beginning of April. I was so excited since I just finished my HESI. I had to retake it since I did not take Vocab. the first time I took it? . Anyways, I really pray I get in for August so I can get started and not need to take any additional classes for other schools. My friend got in for Spring 2019 and she is loving it. I have really been fighting to get here for a VERY LONG TIME

I really can't wait. Good luck to everyone! ?

Hey everyone! I am new to this forum. I am currently studying for the HESI exam. I am hoping to apply to Cizik UT in Spring 2020. I am really nervous about getting after attending the info session. My grades aren't horrible but I know it can get competitive. At this point of my school career, this is the only school I see myself going to in Houston and don't plan on moving out the city either. Has anyone gotten denied? My science GPA is not a 4.0 but is higher than a 3.5

This thread is full of people who got denied, myself included. My science GPA was a 4.0 and I got denied.

@cturtle234 I'm sorry to hear that.. where else have you applied to? or are you currently attending another nursing program?

Be hopeful, you will get in. It's not really all about grades or GP. If i go by the GPAs i see on this thread i would probably be reapplying again because my stats was not that competitive. So, you may just get lucky.

A lot of people have gotten denied and sometimes (?) we don't know why because they have perfect GPAs and perfect grades. Anyone could get in, from someone with a perfect GPA to someone who's GPA isn't the highest and doesn't look very competitive. I got in to their program with a 3.6 GPA (rounded) after 3 tries while others in my cohort have gotten in with a perfect GPA on their first try. You can get in! Anyone can! And I also wasn't planning on moving to go to a school but if you can, apply to others as well!!!

The most sound advice I can give you is not to limit yourself to one school, especially this one. You are right, UT is highly competitive, the spring semester will be my third time applying and I consider myself to have competitive stats: 3.7 prereq and science GPAs, 94 overall Hesi with a 100 on the AP portion. Having a 4.0 doesn't guarantee a thing. It seems to be a lottery system at this point because there are definitely more than 120 highly qualified candidates who apply. At least 1,000 people get denied every term. I would open your mind to other schools such as TWU, UH, and SHSU. At the end of the day, the school you go to won't matter, you'll be an RN, BSN no matter what. Don't limit yourself and you may be surprised what school ends up being the best one for YOU!

Thanks! I'm deciding between there and another non-TX school, but I'm relieved to have an acceptance.

I’m pretty shocked I got in, especially as I’ve learned more about the school. Just worried I can’t hack it.
