UTA Spring 2020

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone! I figured I'd start a thread for UT Arlington's BSN Spring 2020 applicants!

First off let me start by sharing a few things:

- UTA nursing school acceptance is based off a composite system that consists of your SCIENCE GPA (Anatomy & Phys 1, Anatomy & Phys 2, Microbiology, Chemistry), OVERALL GPA, and Considerations. ?‍?

- also, TEAS scores don't affect your acceptance into the nursing program, unless you don't meet their requirements of course. ? I'm taking mine this Friday so I'll let y'all know how that goes..

also side note: Considerations depend on wether you're applying to the online or on campus. We can only apply to either or..

As of right now, I have 3 considerations:

- military veteran

- 30 hours at UTA

- 3 out of 4 sciences at UTA

I won't know my official science GPA or overall GPA until after this semester ends....

OMG..... im so impatient and anxious. I thought it said we'd find out by September 15? its NEXT WEEK????!!!! ?

super nervous I feel like puking when I think of it.

I am also super nervous because my GPA is too low....science GPA 3.5 and overall GPA 3.5 and no consideration...total 7 only.... so I think I will not get acceptence...... what you guys think, I got acceptance or not? God bless me please...... guys pray for me too...

Are we able to use a HESI score instead of TEAS? I have read that they accept HESI scores until FALL 2020

On the website I think it says they’ll only accept hesi from those who had their transcripts evaluated before 2017 or something like that. I’d ask an advisor just in case they’ll make an exception

Are you applying for campus or AO? Are you partnered with a hospital? My stats are slightly higher and I was waitlisted the last cycle. This time I'm considered partnered. I'm ready to know already!

I am applying for on campus and I am not partnered with hospital?. So I think, I will not get acceptence... Anyone you know, who got acceptance in low GPA like (3.5 science and 3.5 overall GPA) 7points?

Hello Everyone! I think we'll be hearing something over the next week or so so good luck to everyone!

I just received the second immunization in the 2 step Heb Series. If I get accepted will I be in trouble since I won't be able to get the titer in 30 days (as they require you to submit the documents 2 weeks after acceptance)? Or will they work with you on it? My brother said they didn't mention anything with him when he was accepted as he was finishing the 3 step series that he finished right before starting

I would definitely email UTA BSN immunizations about that. I have heard that they do no exceptions now. I hope they do for your sake. id be so upset! I just got my titer done.

believe me I spoke the the immunizations ppl - they are just so stubborn. On of the nurses working at the health center who also got out of UTA BSN told me the same think - a lot of ppl cant enroll after being accepted due to issue with immunization

Do you think I should wait until after decisions are made?

Ugh, I know. I was an alternate last semester and I could have probably gotten in as I could just take my immunizations in a few months but they were like nope sorry! I hope they are more understanding this time

Any news yet on a decision? I’m so nervous!

Not yet. Likely we'll receive news on Friday or next week. They make decisions the first week of September so I doubt we'll hear anything until next week. Hopefully soon though!

The only exception made is if you went through the series and you were not immune, you can use the waiver.

If you think they are strict now, wait until you begin upper levels. Be 3 minutes late to clinical and you are out of the program. Be 1 minute late 3 times and you’re out. Get used to strict rules. It’s only going to become more so.
