UTA Spring 2012

Published

Alas! Here I go again!;) This thread is dedicated to all hopefuls to either of the programs- AP or traditional. Let's partake in the sharing of ideas, suggestions, and/or insight in the "intricacies" of this nursing program. Former grads, new or current students are encouraged to chat. Knowledge is power, indeed! Continued blessings and success to all! Good Luck!:D

There is not an application fee for UTA nrsg program.

Thanks so much ladies!

What type of GPA you need to get in the program?

For the online and traditional.

@ eldraper7- For the traditional program, I've been told that you need a 3.5 to be competitive.

I had a 3.65 last semester and didn't get in so I re-took some classes and brought my gpa up to a 3.75. I'm still scared that I might not get accepted. I heard that the online one is even more competitive if you are not already working for one of the partnered hospitals.

When you are referring to GPA are you referring to science or overall?

Thanks,

Kay

I was referring to both.

ok. I was just wondering bc the responses didn't specify because I am wondering the same thing. Lena and gracie can you clarify? I would really appreciate it.. I am nervous. Hopefully next week will come fast.

@kaystarz, I hope next week comes fast too - my stomach is in knots waiting!!

I was also referring to both. My science GPA is 3.75

Thanks, everyone! I have a 4.0 science GPA BUUUT my overall is 3.21. I did not know that to my 2 F's from a decade ago would be calculated in my GPA. I thought because they were not transferable when I came to UTA they would not be considered. That was too good to be true. I had a really good advisor before she left but she did not mention this to me, otherwise I would have already have taken them over. Err.. If I have to reapply, my science GPA will go down to 3.75 because I took Chemistry over the summer and made a B. I hate that class! I probably will not retake but will increase my overall.

Regards,

Kayla
