Alas! Here I go again!
This thread is dedicated to all hopefuls to either of the programs- AP or traditional. Let's partake in the sharing of ideas, suggestions, and/or insight in the "intricacies" of this nursing program. Former grads, new or current students are encouraged to chat. Knowledge is power, indeed! Continued blessings and success to all! Good Luck!![]()
Hi all! i have been reading this forum religiously coz this is all i have between now and the acceptance/denial letters. I am curious about UTMB coz when i looked, the website stated that the clinicals are in Galvestone only. Please shed more light on this as i try to get plan B going.I am unpartnered and am afraid it will be a rejection too despite that i graduated form UTA in 2006.

Hang in there and be positive. Yes UTMB's clinicals are on campus. I have applied there and UTA. What I liked about UTMB is that they had a supporting statement for you to write. So while they were looking at grades and test scores, they also had something objective to read. I have made it to the interview process for UTMB. Their program is 12mo and VERY intense and I believe might cost slightly more than UTA's. Not sure what to do if I am accepted to both (which I highly doubt - and am preparing to get rejects from both). Keep looking at Bacc 2 programs as it is still better in the workforce to have the Bacc than just the ADN these days. I calculated it out, and due to additional pre-reqs (as I would have to retake more classes) the ADN track will take me twice as long as UTA's Bacc2 program. I am praying for answers. After all, that is about all we can do. Demand for these programs is so high.
Good luck and I hope to hear more from you soon.

I emailed my adviser today and she said she is still checking to see if i meet all the requirements. UTMB is out of the question for me as i have a family.I am very apprehensive because it seems to me that UTA is looking for every little excuse to throw out my application but i will not let them,am staying on top of things.Am afraid my plan B is slowly becoming plan A.Most jobs i see posted are asking for BSN and so i will keep trying until i get into one of these fast track programs,TWU is very appealing.
I have heard TWU is EXPENSIVE. With all they require, besides classes, I "heard" it is about 90,000. BUT, take the religion course they require and maybe you will be eligible for some scholarships or something. I am continuing to pray and trying to stand working my current job. You could look for a part-time job at one of the hospitals that are partnered in Dallas/Ft. Worth. I was told if I had a job, I would make it in. But I live 8+ hours from Dallas so not happening. I also said I was interested in the Houston cohort if it ever starts. Keep me posted!

You may be confusing TWU with another school. $90k sounds about how much a program at a private university would potentially cost. TWU's tuition per hour is similar to, if not lower than, that of other universities in the area.
I applied to the UTA program but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get in. I guess they don't take grade replacements after you've applied which caused me to have a lower GPA. It's okay though because I got in to Texas A&M commerces pilot nursing program. Super exciting. Anyone who doesn't get in to the UTA program look in to the A&M program it's online except for labs and clinicals.
I am still take pharmacology and patho at UTA though. Is anyone taking pharmacology? Does any want to start a study group? There is so much information in the modules to study that it's overwhelming.

I have applied to both traditional and Accelerated BSN programs at UTA. As an unpartnered student I was also told my chances are not good, but I am keeping my head up. I also applied to UTMB and have now reached the interview round there. So I am not completely out of the running anywhere yet! I have heard letters for UTA should be out at the beginning of November. All I can say is don't loose any hope.
