UTA Fall 2013

Published

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

Did they say how many people applied and how many were accepted?

They did and I don't remember. 400or 600 applicants for each on campus and online? 120 accepted for each. Don't quote me, I don't remember exactly. Actually now that I'm reading this post, I probably shouldn't have responded, sorry.

What I understand, from the didn't-get-into-fall2013 meeting last month, that THR is only taking NS with previous degrees, not from their own staff.

That is correct. You have to have a previous degree to be considered partnered.

What does "NS" mean? I was assigned to THR Fort Worth and I have a precious degree. From what I am reading, THR seems to be picking certain students, is that correct?

Previous* haha...

Sorry, NS = nursing student. That's what they said that the meeting, THR picking students with previous degrees to do clinicals at their locations.

Interesting. I wonder why.

So...how hard is Statistics? I hate math.

You might enjoy statistics it isn't real math. I love algebra but statistics was not fun or in the least bit easy for me. I think of math as black and white but it seemed that statistics had a lot of grey area.

Anyone know what kind of scrubs we need? Can we buy our own or do they have to be specifically fom somewhere?

"Current UTA undergraduate student uniforms are navy blue scrubs with a UTA insignia patch sewn

on the left upper sleeve of scrub top. White long or short sleeved turtleneck or crew neck T-shirts

without logos or advertisements may be worn under scrub shirts."

I believe the UTA bookstore sells them, or you can just buy the patch and find navy scrubs at walmart or online.

Anyone else been called off the waitlist?
