UTA Fall 2013

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

@TWiersch... I'm about to finish my JR1 semester in the AP BSN program... I will warn you that if you feel that way now, just wait until you get into the AP program... Be prepared to say that all time... "all I do is study, study, study... " I don't think I know what it's like to relax anymore... LOL...

That's my life, with a Full Time job, wife, and kids... Plus I drive from my home to Dallas (2+ hours each way) for my weekend clinicals... But totally worth it.

Congrats to everyone accepted, for those waitlisted, don't lose hope (I was waitlisted)... You can do it!

Don

Hey Don,

This is one of the reasons I do not plan to go to UTA for nursing school, just prereqs because they are online. I plan to apply to 2 year nursing schools, because I study a lot already. I cannot even imagine a nursing accelerated program! You all are awesome!

Oh, wow. Thanks for the info, Don! You really have your hands full. I quit my job to pursue my BSN. Can't imagine doing both.

Yeah, it's difficult at times... I will acknowledge that if I had the option, I'd quit my job and concentrate on my classes more... and to highlight that point, the school requires you to sign a attestation acknowledging that you understand that the CON does not recommend the students work at the same time, and that if you do, that they recommend no more than 16-20 hours per week.

Too bad I haven't won the lottery yet... [fingers crossed]

Violach - the labs and quizzes are super easy becuz they are open book. The exams on the other hand are tricky!

I heard the reason THR is no longer partnered is because people were working and it was affecting their jobs. I think that is stupid. Let a person decide what they can handle.

Are any of the ones that were accepted work for Cooks?

Are the Patho Final Exam grades supposed to be posted to BB? Mine is not showing up even though I received an email from our coach.

She said they were not released yet... but I'm wondering if she read my email wrong...maybe she thought I said Final Grade.

I don't see the final exam grade either.

Hi all

Pls who is the best online instructor for fs-nurs 1300 (intro to professional nursing) at UTA?

Thanks

We can't say names on here. But on that note, I don't think it matters who the professor is. The work is all the same, and the instructor doesn't communicate with the students. It's the coach for the class that communicates.

Correct. I had one professor and a friend had another and we each had the same assignments.

Hi all

Thank you so much for getting back to me.

Same work load is good then. How was the work load though? Is it something I can combine with another class?

Also, did you need to use textbooks or just class notes and modules?

thank you
