Hey all, I thought I would set up a place to discuss the next application period for UTA's Fall 2012 nursing program. There was so much info in the Spring 2012 forum, thought it might be helpful to start a new thread...

I think UTA prefers to UTA students. It's understandable. My friend from UTA got in. Well, the wait continues... Does anyone know when they will begin to call waitlisted students? After acceptance form deadline maybe? (I think it's May 10).

I got accepted to the on-campus program and this was my first time to apply! I feel so blessed! Good luck to everyone else!! :)

Congrats!! That's awesome. Out of curiosity, since I was wait listed, what was your gpa?

I have asked around here at work and several people where wait listed and got in still! I havent talekd to one that was wait listed and didn't get in :bugeyes: I am going to leave that in mind!

After sulking around here the past 3 hours a friend told me don't look at it like you where not good enough to get in becasue clearly you where not bad enough that they ruled you out completly!~

That is awesome to know!!! I have been stalking this site more than usual because I'm SO curious how many THR employess got accepted? I haven't seen a single one! Of course that doesn't mean anything because not every human is on allnurses.com HAHA!

Getting the denial last year was SO hard, so I am definitely happier with a wait list letter than a straight up denial. Your friend is RIGHT! Definitely be proud of all your hard work--you will definitely get in! Even if Sept isn't your time, then January will be. Or at least that is what I am telling myself

Spring '13 starts only 4 months later, so if that is when I start, then so be it. (Can you tell I'm trying to stay positive here??) Hard work pays off. Period. So I know, 1000%, I WILL be an RN at some point in this crazy life. I really hope we both get in for Fall and start at the same time. It's cool to know someone!

I agree Nikki. It would be nice to know someone and start together. I will of course apply for the next app period but I am wodnering if I will just be wait listed again because all my stats will be the same. I guess I will have more hours at UTA at that point...maybe that will help..:yeah:

Hey everyone!

Not to get anyone's hopes up too high but I have a friend who applied to the Spring 2012 semester and she was waitlisted for the campus program and denied for the AP BSN program. She was called 3 weeks before the Spring semester started to take a spot for the AP program that came open! So do not completely rule it out! I will go ahead and accept the ADN spot I got at Navarro for now and if I end up getting called by UTA I will go that route then. Good luck to everyone and keep praying!

Do you guys think they will begin to make calls after the deadline of acceptance responses? (When is it by the way...)

I have heard that those waitlisted can get a call up till the day of orientations, which I don't know when that will be. The program starts in late August.

There is hope for y'all so don't give up or get discouraged. I have been there.

Well I was wait listed too! I am partnered and have BS in Biology, so I had 2 considerations. I guess that wasn't enough though! I don't know how this wait list thing works, but I am super bombed! I work at Parkland so they say 10 are accepted, but I dont think so! Do anyone know if I have to reapply for Spr '13 start date?

I was wodnering the same thing Lee. It says that they will send an email before orienation if we have not been called to join this start date asking if we would like our application to transfer to the next start date.

I am super bummed about being waitlisted. I knew that the AP program was hard to get into without considerations but I am really surprised I didn't make it into the on campus program. I am especially surprised rubyred with the 4.0/4.0 is wait listed.

Anyways, in my sadness I made a facebook page so maybe we can all keep in touch better.
