I was hoping to start a thread for fall 2010 UTHSC. Where we can be positive and share info without going into exact detail of interviews. Like have you got your acceptance letter, packet, etc?
My friend had her interview today. I am feeling hopeless- I wonder if everyone gets interviewed? I have a 4.0 science GPA, a 3.78 overall, and a 3.95 pre-req GPA....but I got a 74 overall on the NET. Based on that score I am afraid I am retarded? ahaha.
Is anyone else anxiously awaiting an interview? Does anyone know if the NET scores are weighted more, over your GPAs? Hope not.
Good luck to everyone!
Lauren, what were your individual scores? They interview everyone with a high enough GPA and math and reading scores of at least 70. If your math and reading scores were both at least 70, I would call them. Otherwise, they will be using a new exam next semester that you might have better luck on. Don't feel too bad about your score. It's a weird test and I know a lot of very smart people who had a difficult time with it which is probably why they aren't using it in the future.
I had my interview today and I was told that 400 people were interviewed for 130 slots. The notices will be sent the first week of April. Now that my interview is over, I've done all that I can. I'm going to try to relax until April and hope that March goes by quickly.
@Veganmom -You heard they were interviewing 400 people? People on here were saying they were only interviewing about 250. I remember at the info session they said they interviewed about 400-500 people in the past so 400 sounds about right. Who told you that? I keep hearing conflicting things. I guess it doesn't really matter now though, you get in or you don't. I'm always running the stats in my my head anyways. Good Luck everyone!!!
Same here...I heard it from the woman who signed us in at the interview. Maybe 250 was the number at the time of our interview, and now that number has increased. A month has passed for many of our interview, so I would not be surprised if it is now at 400. Only that--this is going to make me even more anxious. Killing us...with the wait.

My Overall GPA is a 3.75, my science GPA is a 4.0, and my pre-req GPA is a 3.94.
How am I not getting an interview invitation?
Does anyone know the number directly to the admissions? I only have the registrar's number and don't think they know anything.
Lauren, the number for admissions questions is 1-800-232-8876. The only reasons I can think that you wouldn't be getting an invitation is if your NET reading score was below 70, if all of your transcripts weren't received, if you haven't taken 40 credits, or if they made some sort of mistake. Good luck!
Lauren- I know for sure if your reading score alone is below a 70 you will not get an interview, no matter what your GPA is. It kinda sucks that the NET reading weighs that much, but it does. If your reading is not above 70 then that explains why you did not get an invitation. I hope you are able to figure it out and get your interview if you are qualified.

Had my interview today...so relieved it's over! Just got back from celebrating (I'm just happy I made it this far and I didn't pass out from fear). :w00t:
Good luck to the rest of you guys left to interview!
