Anyone here applied already?
Have you taken the NET exam?
KELLYWOOD:did you already have your interview for admission to fall 2010?
If so, what kinda questions did they ask you?
The writing example? what was that over?
How many people were there?
Did they refer back to your resume during the interview?
I interviewed for the Accelerated BSN program. They asked the basic why do you want to be a nurse questions. the writing sample is a critical thinking essay. as for my resume--she just asked about my work experience and how I got interested in nursing.

When you say critical thinking essay I think of a question along the lines of: Describe a Nurse's role in such and such? is that correct?
I'm nervous about my interview too! I was a little worried about what to wear also, but I already have an outfit in mind (lol) and it's not my number one worry!! Mostly I'm stressing over the writing sample. I heard last year it was something about "what is the nurse's role in organ transplant" or something like that. Which, when I asked a recent UTMB grad about, said "That's crazy, I didn't even know about a lot of that until I was doing my internship after I graduated! Why would they ask applicants that?" So I'm nervous that they're going to ask a question that completely stumps me!!
Does anyone know if it was the same writing sample for all the interviewed applicants for last term? Because the people who get interviewed the first days could easily post what the writing sample is for everyone else, but that seems a little weird doesn't it? I mean, I would've thought that each interview day would have a different writing sample to avoid people talking about it. Or do they not really care if the applicants help each other out or not?
Oh, also, my last name starts with an R and my interview is the 16th... So that makes me think it might be kind of alphabetical as well. But you never really know until it's all over right? :)
I heard that one of the writing samples correlates with a "similar schedule" to a nursing student there. They ask you to write how would you be able to balance this schedule and what not. (Not to bad) Its better than whats a nurses role in an organ transplant lol
I thought this thing is going alphabetical too. My last name starts with an L and my interview is the 9th, and I read that they interview like 20 people per day.
Just wanna get in there already!
Has anybody started a resume? I'm Worried bc I have no expierence with health field, I am (well was) a NCAA Athlete and I Couldn't do anything but my Sport in College. So Im worried that will hurt me! :/
So I think the first batch of applicants to be interviewed is Feb 8th
Could we all help each other before Feb 8th about the process, hints, rumors, resume, etc. but after Feb 8th we should stop because it will be disadvantage to those who will be interview early and not get help.
What I am saying please don't share interview questions, essays, process, etc. after Feb 8th in this forum.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything like that...just want a even playing field.
Do I sound like a smuck?
Oh no i had it sent the monday before that friday deadline and called to make sure they had everything & they had it all on my utlink the day before the deadline. Just getting nerves because some of the people are thinking its alphabetical because my last name starts with a B, HOPEFULLY its going by when all your stuff got processed. Anyone else have a pretty good GPA and turned stuff turned in at the last minute ( BTW didn't do that on purpose had to finish a mini) and still have not gotten their interview letter?
Oh ok then you should definitely call them. If you have a decent Gpa and made over a 70 on the reading and math portion of the Net then you should be fine. You never know, there's so many of us, they could have made a mistake. I turned my last transcript in the last week as well but got an interview letter shortly after. Good luck.

You do not sound like a smuck, you just really want to get in. It is understandable. They are interviewing you, to see if you are a good candidate. The committee knows what they are looking for. I don't think there is any real way to have an advantage by reading others experiences. Everyone should be themselves and relax. You cant really fake being personable, or being able to connect with people. That is something you do naturally, or through a ton of practice. Believe in yourself. That is all you have to do.
My mom was accepted into the Doctoral program, this was the advice she gave me.
Good luck to everyone!!

Does anyone know are they still sending out letters for UT BSN 2010? I should have high enough GPA and test scores for an interview but have not received my letter but did not turn all my application stuff in until the day before deadline because i had to finish up one class. I am getting really nerves. Is there a place on UT link I am missing that tells you if you got an interview spot?
