UT Houston (Fall 2014 applicants)

Published

Hello Future Nurses,

Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!

I honestly do not know. Maybe there is a computer behind it! I submitted my application December 17th. Maybe they are going through them by submission date?

Thanks for the reassurance :) I think I submitted my application around the same time too, but I know it took awhile for my hesi scores and official transcript to come off my to do list and (my current transcript is still on the to do list for classes in progress). I really just hope they send out more emails soon before I go nuts!

That is so weird ngl

I saw the stats and I had to do a double take. I would assume they would have corrected it but maybe not. Who knows? I wonder if they will be sending acceptances out throughout the week or in one day they will send out all of them. I heard that they send out denials first? I'm just so paranoid. I think I've gained 5lbs from emotional eating. Lol.

To only look at a GPA and a standardized test is silly. I think maybe adding an interview would help the application process, but that's just my thoughts. Also, everyone should get a transcript eval!

^^^those stats were my mistake and it won't let me edit it. I was hoping no one would notice. Sorry guys :(

for those that haven't received an answer yet (like me) what would be y'all's plan B? Like would y'all retake classes ?

No, I wouldn't. I have a previous degree which I graduated with a 3.81, have a 4.0 science GPA, and a 94 HESI. If they don't want me I will reapply and look at other programs. I'm currently going through Texas State's application process.

You have great stats! I really don't see why they wouldn't take you

That's the problem, everyone has great stats! Haha. I think some luck is involved to be honest.

My friend says she thinks they have a lottery.

Haha it's not completely random because you definitely have to be qualified to get into the program. I just hope the odds are in my favor!

Specializes in CNA.

If ya'll don't get in this time around just keep reapplying for all the open applications. I think they honestly look to see how many times people have applied..so don't give up!! Best of luck to all of you!! :)
