UT Houston (Fall 2014 applicants)

Hello Future Nurses,

Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!

If you are still waiting on a transcript evaluation... I noticed that an "Admissions Hold" was placed on my account the next day after my transcript evaluation was prepared (shows date prepared on physical evaluation.) My evaluation was prepared 3/05/2014, the "Admissions Hold" started 3/06/2014, and I received my evaluation in the mail yesterday, 3/19/2014. Just thought I would offer any possible frame of reference.

I am thinking everyone has that hold, yes?

Thanks for the info Cassidy! I actually emailed this afternoon about transcript evaluations/decisions and haven't heard back yet, but it was late in the afternoon, so maybe tomorrow. I saw your post and immediately logged in to see an Admissions Hold as well. I am assuming this means that I will be receiving and evaluation soon. Is it weird to be excited to see that? LOL

I also have the admissions hold so I am excited to be receiving the evaluation. Does anyone also have a health and immunization hold? What start date does your hold have?

Well crap! I don't have any holds after getting my evaluation! I wonder what that means :(

No idea. My start date says 2009 and I have no clue why. I'm so anxious in receiving something!! I don't like this waiting!!

I don't think your overall GPA carries much (if any) weight. I know they look at science and pre-req GPA. I made it into the summer program with a 3.3 overall, 3.802 pre-req, and 4.0 science.

I just saw that I have an admissions hold as well. My start date was 3/17/2014. I received my evaluation in the mail yesterday (the 19th).

Do you have to receive a transcript evaluation before you can be accepted?

I think the overall GPA does carry some weight. It is just my opinion, however, from looking at past threads and those who didn't get in, it seems like a few had not done so well in the past, myself included. And their other stats were great except for that. I can't say that I wouldn't look at my old transcripts and run the other way, but I was hoping that they would focus more on Nursing/Science GPA and HESI. Oh well, what can you do.

Aliciab88 You don't have to receive a transcript eval to get accepted..

I just called the registrars office regarding my "admissions hold" and i was told its just because of the classes that i have in progress.

I got an email this morning stating they fixed my course evaluation and credited my AP exams. If you have the same issue, email them at ] [email protected].

I got my course eval finally. Except they said I had not taken chemistry or a fine art when I did.. So I emailed them. Hopefully they get that fixed soon :(
