UT Health Pacesetter Spring 2019

Published

I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.

My name is Edera,

I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.

Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!! xhappy2.png.pagespeed.ic.zjIVMhQq4z.webp

I received emails from UTHealth with my login and password for the "Manage my Application" section of the site, but I get an "invalid-error" message when I attempt to log in. I can still access the application and make updates.

ETA: I just got off the phone with their help desk. They asked me to keep trying to log in - including hand typing the password because the site is "finicky" - and give them a call back tomorrow if I still can't get in.

@paulaTX, the help desk had to help me too. My account was locked for some reason and they unlocked it for me.

Hi guys! I applied for Spring 2019 as well. My stats are:

HESI: 96%

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Undergrad GPA: 3.8

Really hoping I get in! The fact that the clinical sites will be at the Houston Medical Center is HUGE for me - the TAMU Health in Round Rock sites are much smaller Round Rock hospitals...not nearly as impressive.

Hi what did you use to study for your Hesi?

I used the HESI A2 Secrets study guide, I bought the book on Amazon. I also used the same Secrets book for the TEAS, which I thought was a harder test.

@fingercroxx thank you!

Hey guys, I'm planning on applying to UTH once I take my Hesi (which is tomorrow). I'm feeling really nervous.

Don't feel nervous it's really not that bad at all. Of course everyone feels like that at first but once your all done with it you will feel much better. Just keep in mind that some answers are multiple choice and others are fill in the blank but it's nothing to stress out about. Also take your time and don't rush through it. Good luck!

Does anyone know if any other courses will satisfy the Intro to Philosophy pre-req? I got my Bachelor's from UT Austin so I think either English Lit or an upper division Rhetoric might count? But I can't find anything specific on the program site.

Thanks Vickitoria! I just finished taking it and my stats are

GPA: 4.0

Hesi: 89.6

AP:88

Math:96

Grammer:86

Vocab:92

Reading:86

Congratulations!!.. those are excellent scores! I'm sure you feel relieved now that's all over with. How do you feel about your overall grade?

I feel relieved but I also feel like I could've done better. I'm not satisfied with the outcome but it is what it is. Maybe my grades will compensate I'll be applying sometime this week
