I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.
My name is Edera,
I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.
Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!!
As an update: I called UTH today to ask my question about inputting my HESI score, and the admissions office stated to leave that section blank IF you are having to send previous test scores directly from Elsevier. It will count as "unofficial" and will not be looked if you input it anyway. The only thing that matters is you sending in the HESI transcript (if it was under a different school code). After you pay the application fee, it will show if it was received or not.
I will be applying for Spring 2019 admission as well. I am currently finishing up my prerequisites at HCC.
I am just finishing up my 5 week A&P2 summer session this week, and took the HESI last week. I scored a 94.8% overall, including a 92% on the A&P section.
I have to admit, reading through old threads where applicants had 3.5+ GPA, 95% HESI score, and still didn't get in is pretty discouraging. Just going in knowing I'd best have a plan B.
Hello buddies,
I am applying to UTH and Texas A&M HSC. Hopefully, I will be accepted by both schools. (Fingercroxx)
My
Nursing Prerequsite GPA: 3.9 (UTH), 3.93 (Texas A&M); since their requirements are a bit different so I have different GPAs.
Science GPA: 4.0 (Both UTH & TAMU)
Overall Hesi Score: 91.6%
Reading: 90%
Grammar: 88%
Vocab: 82% (worst part for me bc English is my second language, and I came to the States in 3 years ago.)
Math: 98%
A&P: 100% (the part that I studied the most lol)
I have just applied to UTH... it's gonna be the longest wait in my life...
WISH EVERYONE IN HERE BE ACCEPTED BY UTH :>
Hi everyone,
I'm excited to be applying for the Spring of 2019! I'm finishing my last prerequisites at San Jac this summer. My stats aren't great, but I'm hoping my HESI scores will help!
Here are my stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.41
Science GPA: 3.50
I'm taking the HESI in August
Best of luck to everyone! I also live in the Friendswood area if anyone is preparing to take the HESI soon (although I know many have already taken it) I'd love to do a study group!
Hey Everyone! I just submit my application for UTH Spring 2019 Pacesetter BSN program! I was wondering if we receive a notification that our transcripts have been received and reviewed. It says my HESI scores and transcripts are "initiated" but am a little confused.
Also, does anyone know if this is a rolling admission, or we all receieve decisions at the same time.
Thanks, and best of luck to all!
Hi guys! I applied for Spring 2019 as well. My stats are:
HESI: 96%
Nursing Pre-req GPA: 4.0
Undergrad GPA: 3.8
Really hoping I get in! The fact that the clinical sites will be at the Houston Medical Center is HUGE for me - the TAMU Health in Round Rock sites are much smaller Round Rock hospitals...not nearly as impressive.
I attempted to submit my application this afternoon. I clicked the "signature" button, went through the payment page, paid the application fee. It said once the signature button is clicked, I will not be able to access my application to make updates. But when I log back in to myUTH, I can still access the "new application" and make updates. I can't sign in under the "Manage my Application" section. Anyone have any insight?

Does anyone know if coming in with undergraduate and graduate degrees will help me in the selection process? I plan on applying for Jan 2019. I just started on my science pre-reqs and I am not expecting to make higher than a B in those (simply because these are all courses I have zero experience with coming from soft-sciences degrees). I take the HESI this week, but I have no clue how I will score on that either...but my cumulative GPAs for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees are 4.0s...anyone know anything about the selection process? Is it truly only based on pre-req GPA, science GPA, & cumulative GPA? Was hoping my previous degrees in social work would give me a leg up, but sounds like maybe not?
