UT Health Pacesetter Spring 2019

Published

I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.

My name is Edera,

I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.

Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!! xhappy2.png.pagespeed.ic.zjIVMhQq4z.webp

really?? UTH?? wow i had no idea. It was really worrisome to me when their application was the fastest application I had ever completed, out of all the nursing schools i applied to

Yea there was not much to their application. Yesterday, I already received an acceptance letter from the other school I applied to, and their application was due just a week ago! A lot of people who were accepted to that program also seem to be waiting for UTH. The deadline to respond to the other school is 10/8 though :/

What other schools did you apply to?

Well congratulations on your acceptance to the other program!!

I haven't heard anything from the two other schools I applied to yet :/ I assume those decisions will come before UTH though, so if accepted to one of the others I plan to accept a seat then I'll give it up if UTH offers me a seat since they're my 1st choice school.

Ok I received a transcript evaluation today, and I am freaking out. It says that I am missing 5 classes, and these are all classes I took the CLEP exam for. I didn't take them really recently (took them in Fall of 2017 and then some early 2018), so they're definitely in the system. HCC also shows that they are already accepted as credits towards my degree. So UTH basically entered none of my CLEP scores. Has this happened to anyone? I'm so stressed now.

Oh no I am sorry, that is definitely stressful! Hopefully a quick phone call to them can help you get it resolved though. We're still far enough out from selections being made that I'm sure you'll get it resolved in time.

Where any of those classes science classes? I found this Q&A on their website. It says that they don't accept Clep scores for science classes.

Q: Are CLEP/IB/AP scores accepted?

A: Yes. If your scores were already evaluated for post-secondary credit and appear on a college transcript they will be accepted. This applies to all courses except for science - CLEP/IB/AP will not be accepted.

You should definitely call though hopefully it's something they overlooked. Good luck

Thanks for your reply!

No, my CLEPS were for History 1 and 2, Sociology, US Government, etc

I called them this morning, and they said electronic transcripts don't have test credits like CLEP on them. I have no idea why, bc it is in my HCC transcript. She told me luckily, without those classes I still made the cutoff bc I had 48 prerequisite credits (I think 40 are needed to apply).

I'm now rushing to send a paper transcript to them, but I just have so much paranoia in the process now. I wish someone had mentioned that to me when I asked them on two separate occasions. They just said it would be transferred with my current school's transcript. It also seems to be recommended to send electronic transcripts, so I don't understand why I'm just learning about this now.

Hopefully it works. Ugh.

I'm glad you were able to get an answer! I know you're stressed but you are still in a great position with still meeting the requirements without those CLEPS combined with your amazing GPA & Hesi scores.

Try not to overwhelm yourself with panic over the transcript issue, you'll get it resolved and everything will work out! :)

i love how everyone on here is so supportive of each other :')

It is really nice being able to talk to other people who are also going nuts in the waiting game haha

I just got my transcript evaluation and it looks like I really did end up having lower than a 3.0....

i'm now almost 98% sure i'm going to get rejected bc i didn't meet the 3.0 requirement :'(
