I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.
My name is Edera,
I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.
Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!!
Does anyone know anyone who has gotten in with a low gpa? (3.0 range and below kind of low)
My HESI scores are pretty mediocre and when I talked to one of the admission counselors they said that they look HEAVILY on HESI scores.
Reading: 88%
Grammar: 88%
Vocabulary: 82%
Anatomy and Physiology: 96%
Math: 88%
My scores seem pretty low compared to everyone else's that has gotten in lol so ive been basically having anxiety since I submitted everything lol

I don't think I've seen any past threads with anyone that got in with under a 3.0, but I'm sure I haven't read all the threads either. I'm pretty sure I've seen quite a few people get in with HESI scores under 90%, but not sure about the past year. It seems like threads from a few years ago had more scores in the 80s get in that more recent years. Not sure though. Anyhow, it doesn't hurt to apply!
This waiting is killing me lol
So I received a second transcript evaluation today. It made me nervous when I saw it because I knew it couldn't be an acceptance letter so paranoid me was thinking it was a denial letter or something for not meeting the requirements, even though I'm completely done.
Waiting for decisions might be the death of me!
a SECOND transcript eval? I wonder why. Was it the exact same as the first?

I thankfully dont have have under a 3.0, but its most def on the border of 3.0-3.2 and thats not very competitive.
I have read quite a few threads about how UTH is almost a lottery system when it comes to choosing applicants.

I replied to this, but I think it was deleted before I hit post.
The thing that drives me crazy about UTH is the lack of information. I feel powerless bc I don't even know what they want or how they decide lol. I just tried to aim for the highest numbers I could, but who really knows what they look for?
So you actually talked to an admissions counselor, and they said said they weigh hesi more heavily than GPA? Did they mention what range or how they decide? Seems like from the past threads, the HESI scores of accepted students have also been all over the charts.

They were the exact same as far as the content, but one had an "imaged" stamp that the other one didn't though.
I think it's because I had emailed them when I originally sent in my transcripts asking about it since one of my colleges was out of state.

Yeah, I called because of a transcript issue and they said that my transcript had an incomplete on a class that didnt even exist on my transcript. So I called them numerous times back and forth from my home university to UTH. When I finally was able to reach an admission counselor she told me not to worry as much about stuff on my transcript as long as I did well on the HESI. I was really confused when i heard her so I repeated back what she said to me with the whole "your admission relies heavily on your HESI score" and she confirmed it. It's confusing because, like you said, scores have been all over the place so i was like uhhhhhh okay i guess.
idk its relieving but frightening at the same time bc we're all in the dark.

Right? They keep saying it's all about your numbers, but then there's not much rhyme or reason to it. I was just reading their website where it talks about other "factors" that are considered into their decision, and they mention personal statements, essays, and other things that I don't believe we even had the option to submit.
