I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.
My name is Edera,
I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.
Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!!
Hey guys! It does seem kind of quiet....I'm personally just holding my breath until around November 15th lol. I have nothing much to report until around thenOf course, good luck to everyone!!! I noticed someone already received a transcript evaluation. Has anyone else? Ever since seeing that post I have been checking my mail compulsively
Hope everyone has a great day.
I've been checking mail as well with no luck. When did you apply? I applied sometime around mid-August, but I didn't take my HESI until 8/29. Wondering if they go by any specific order.
I was the lucky transcript eval recipient, but no updates other than that.
I will specify that I had some courses transferring in from an out of state college & had touched based with them about that, so maybe that could play a role in it?
I submitted the initial application back in January, sent in HESI scores in March and final transcripts in July, If there's any kind of pattern hopefully we can distinguish it! haha. This wait is going to be a long and painful one, I can feel it already but hopefully it will all be worth it!
Honestly, I submitted the application itself back in January this year! As far as the HESI and pre-reqs are concerned, those I submitted shortly before the September 1st due date. I also didn't take the HESI until around 8/16. I love how you're looking for patterns....I feel you!
I remember reading on one of the other threads from a couple years ago that they had heard that early on some applications are passed on to do an evaluation, and some others go forward without the eval. Not sure the implications, but that's what I read.
Hello All! My first post- I have been reading all the posts (lurking, I guess lol) and also reading every post from Spring 2018 applicants trying to put together a timeline of sorts (obsessive). This is my first application to a nursing program, Ive been working on pre-reqs for the last few years and instead of applying for my ADN at WCJC like I originally intended- I went straight for this program at the last minute. I am only short on Micro and Chemistry, which I am currently taking. I read that people were having weird statuses on their to-do lists (those who were in process of taking last pre-reqs), but as soon as I took my HESI (Aug 23rd), my tasks cleared and I dont have any holds (just giving info for anyone curious). Also, I have not received a transcript eval, and I applied at the end of July. Good luck to all!

Hi Amy! We are all lurkers! Well, I'll just speak for myself . I did the same thing as you. I went back to Spring 2018 and even Summer+Fall to get an idea of a timeline. You can call me obsessive, too! LOL This is my first application to a nursing program as well. I am short on history and government courses and chemistry, which I am taking this semester @ HCC Central Campus. Nice to meet you and GOOD LUCK!
Has anybody gone ahead & done their BLS certification?
I was going to try to ahead and knock mine out but when I went to register through the AHA website it asks for an institution. I'm not currently working in healthcare so no employment to put down & of course haven't been accepted to a program yet.
Was wondering if anybody else ran into this and if so what'd you put?

I did my BLS certification already. I'm pretty sure it gave me an option to say that I wasn't affiliated with an institution yet, which is what I did.
