Yes, it is extremely early to begin talking about the Spring 2018 class, however, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together here and go through our pre-req/application/acceptance journey. It would be fun to lend support, chronicle our stresses and excitements and see how everything unfolds for us from now until the first day of class (assuming we get accepted).
I'll start:
I'm taking my pre-reqs at Lonestar (10 hrs for Spring, 14 hrs for Summer). I plan to take 18 hrs for Fall and will be testing out of 15 hrs via CLEP. I work PRN in a Critical Care unit at a major hospital. I will be taking the HESI in May; once Spring semester ends. Lastly, I have high hopes to be accepted into the Honors program once I am eligible to apply, since I have a deep interest in research.
I hope to hear from some of you! The application deadline is September 1 and there is a webinar info session at 10am tomorrow.
God bless.
I just don't understand what happens if your coursework won't be complete before the application due date.I'm taking my last science (AP II) during Fall '17 and won't have that grade until December.
As long as you complete at least 40 hours of prerequisites when you submit your app you will be fine. 8 of those hours must be the sciences required like Chem, A&P 1 & 2 or Micro. Only what you have submitted by the application date will be considered and then if you get accepted your admission is contingent upon getting in the rest of your stuff in. My application deadline was sometime in march I think and I took 2 summer classes. I found out I was accepted during my class actually lol. but once I submitted my final transcript and paid my holding fee then you just finish the rest of your todo list and you're good to go
Hello everyone,
I have applied for spring 2018. I officially submitted everything Aug.25 and I am green on the myUTH portal. I have previously applied for summer 2017 & got denied. I still got a transcript eval about 2 weeks after dead line & that's when I was told. I have retaken classes & HESI and reapplied. Now it's just a waiting game, will keep you all posted on any updates.
I have two transcripts that say "initiated" on myUTH, one does have a pending course, but the other does not, in fact I completed that degree. But, I called the registrar at UTH and they said they have all the transcripts I sent. So I'm not sure why it still says initiated for a transcript with no pending coursework.
So I was evaluating courses needed to apply and the one course I needed was Texas Government. I thought this would be a problem, but my application says complete and not initiated. I have a BS already from another university. Would they really just fudge some things around or will my transcripts be evaluated more thoroughly?

Maybe you took a different class that was equivalent. Did you take a different govt class

So basically what the complete means is that you satisfied the necessary requirements that are needed to apply. Plus, they received all of your other documents that they require. However, just because it shows complete doesn't mean that there aren't thing you may still have to complete prior to the beginning of the school year if you get accepted. For example, it said complete in the myUTH portal last admissions period (for Fall 2017) because I had everything that they needed in order to apply. But when I got my degree evaluation it said that my Statistics class was not accepted. It ended up being an error on their part but that is basically how that works from my understanding. So I would still take Texas Government if you know you need it.
