UT Austin AE-MSN 2024

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there,

I commented on last year's thread because I wasn't able to make a topic, but I figured out how to make one and so I wanted to post for people applying to next year's cohort.

Is there anyone currently in their PC-PNP program that would be willing to chat with me about the likelihood of acceptance?

Is anyone else applying to that program? Or to the other ones?

I also just applied to the PMHNP program. Eeeeek slim chance but worth giving it a try. Good luck y'all!

I'm applying for to the PMHNP concentration. The website says the AEMSN acceptance rate is like 13% so I don't have my hopes up LOL

Ugh same here!

I looked online, for last year it says that out of 55 students that applied to LEADS 49 were admitted so about 89% acceptance rate, pretty good chance! I'm hopeful!

Are students who aren't accepted to any of the NP tracks automatically deferred to LEADS?

I don't think it's automatic. I think they are offered the option to resubmit an application that is catered towards the LEADS program. Basically reapply to that program.

Yeah I think if they have a strong candidate they will offer them that option.

@AustinNative Do you remember when interview invites were sent out? I'm trying to get a good idea of when we should expect responses after the application deadline!

@Texasgirly777 We submitted our applications on Oct. 1, so timing might be a little different for yall. The second week of November we got an email asking for our social security number and we had 4 days to respond - that gets sent to the Board of Nursing. Towards the end of November, they offered some people who weren't going to be getting an interview the opportunity to re-apply to LeaDS. On Dec. 1 got an email saying I got an interview. The interviews were about 10-14 days later. Dec. 23 everyone got an email about getting fingerprinted. The second week of January some people that applied to the NP/CNS tracks were offered the opportunity to apply to both. Mid-February we got the decision email. This was pretty much all the communication we got the entire time, so lots of long stretches of silence!

I am applying for fall 2024 to the PMHNP Program!

I'm also applying for the PMHNP track. I just submitted the application and waiting to upload supporting docs. I know it's a long shot but I'm hopeful!

Does anyone know what you can do with a degree in LEADS? Like is there a large pay discrepancy in terms of being and NP and having a masters in nurisng?

Has anyone heard about interviews yet?

Good luck to everyone!
