UT Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Hello Everyone!!

It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?

I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.

I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

I looked them up - NOT MY STYLE, I feel I ll look like a dork in those, just a matter of taste. I m either into nice athletic kicks or rugged steel toe type boots.

Then I guess a different color logo won't matter. as ling as there not to much with lining of different colors.

They are running shoes. Comfy. All leather

oh Thanks for sharing. I still want comfortable shows so I ll chose them by that and use leather paint to paint the logos and linings. The quality of the shoe makes a HUGE difference on the lower back and the knees.I had a state gvmt job which includes a lot of standing up and walking and we had to wear black shoes too - boots or something resembling a boot. Some of the older high ranked people had already titanium knees replacements, or/and titanium hips and several lower back surgeries....

I agree. I’ve had back surgery so comfortable shoes were extremely important to me. It took about 6 or so purchases before I finally found a comfortable pair that met all their crazy rules. I’m so thankful I’m an actual nurse now and can wear whatever I want to wear without being in excruciating pain by the end of my shifts!

I like those but the logo is gray and " MakingTheRounds, BSN, RN" said some teacher will make an issue about that , they want all black including logos and linings or or white. I personally like the Nike shocks but the logo is a different color as well. If it is an issue I will just paint the logo. I didn't mean painting the whole shoe....just the logo and make them all one color...

Those look fine. The logo just seems like it’s reflective black, which fits the rules.

I got the matte black ones. Breaking them in. They are good for standing and walking and running. I ran four miles in them today

I bought these off of Amazon. I have flat feet so I am extremely picky about shoes. These come in the option for buying wide and you can get all black leather or all white. They are comfortable and decently priced.

This are good too. Almost the same as my Pumas, and the same price.

I don't know if the tongue has to be leather as well. Thats a good question for the orientation as well.

The shoes I got are presently worn by at least three UTA nursing students. No one has ever said anything to them. As long as the outside is leather, your good. Stop nit picking over silly things

somebody already mentioned that some of the teachers are very picky and would give you problems if logs or lining is not black and white. Wouldnt be surprised id they say that this is "absorbent material' for microbes and not allowed....The Pumas that some people already posted are with a leather tongue, so I was carefully looking at pic online to see specifically what is the tongue made of....

When I have my scrubs on. The bottom of the scrub pants covers most of the tonque leaving only the leather portion exposed.

Yes someone mentioned it. But the pumas are fine. I have them. I bought them on the recommendation of three other students who are in senior one right now. They are all black all leather and are great shoes. They are running shoes but are very comfy.
