UT AE MSN 2015

Hi all! I know this is a bit early, considering the application doesn't even go live until August 1, but UT is my number one school for Nursing. I just graduated from UGA with a BS in Psychology, and have around a 3.5 GPA. I have yet to take the GRE. I also am going to get a CNA certification and work for a year (hopefully in MedSurg) as well as shadow a family friend who is a Pediatric nurse. Many years before us have started a thread so I figured it would be a good idea to start one! I would really like to go into their Nurse Practitioner program, but as of right now there are some changes going on that said would be solidified in the fall.

Any feedback would be wonderful! As well as personal experience and what not!

I think that 8 applicants have been or will be offered spots in NP (22 got an interview, I believe). I also wonder how many of those that did not get a spot were offered the opportunity to apply to LeaDs. I was told that I am waitlisted for NP; I'm not sure if we all were or not.

That was a lot to interview for such a small number of seats! Getting nervous!

It may be worthwhile to call and see what number you fall on the wait list. If you are one of the first couple of spots it may not be to your advantage to switch. Its just something to consider! I read a similar situation on an older AE MSN thread here.

Did they give you all a deadline to inform her of wanting to be considered for LeaDs?

Is anyone else confused by the two e-mails we received. The first one has a typo right where it mentions the wait list. It sounds like I was wait listed. However in the second e-mail it was stated that no one has been put on a wait list yet. Unless some of us got different e-mails.

Kcast22 - the deadline to let them know our decision is tomorrow.

Hashi - are you referring to the very last sentence "there is no guarantee you will be on the waitlist for this program either"? That confused me a little also, but I think she is referring to the LeaDs program.

I think it is also saying that even if you are on the waitlist for FPMHNP, that does not guarantee that you will be admitted to LeaDs. That's how I'm reading it.

I can't believe they have already responded back so quickly. Maybe we will be in luck and find out final decisions sooner rather than later.

I got waitlisted for FPMHNP/referred to LeaDs. It's nice to know that it was a competitive year, at least.

I hope so!! Based on posts from previous years, I feel like we will probably find out by the end of this month.

I'm ready to find out! I don't feel great about my chances to be perfectly honest since they are offering so many spots to NP waitlist candidates and I imagine the same goes to CNS. Either way, I'd like to know already!
