UT AE MSN 2015

Published

Hi all! I know this is a bit early, considering the application doesn't even go live until August 1, but UT is my number one school for Nursing. I just graduated from UGA with a BS in Psychology, and have around a 3.5 GPA. I have yet to take the GRE. I also am going to get a CNA certification and work for a year (hopefully in MedSurg) as well as shadow a family friend who is a Pediatric nurse. Many years before us have started a thread so I figured it would be a good idea to start one! I would really like to go into their Nurse Practitioner program, but as of right now there are some changes going on that said would be solidified in the fall.

Any feedback would be wonderful! As well as personal experience and what not!

From what I understand, they have completed CNS interviews and are completing NP and LeaDs interviews. After they've completed all interviews for all programs they will let everyone know their acceptance status hopefully around the end of the month.

Were the two interviews for people who were switching over from the NP or CNS programs to LEADS or was that a standard for everyone? Also, I've been looking at the acceptance email timeslines for last year and it seems like we're running fairly close to schedule as far as acceptance/waitlists/interviews as previous years despite all the changes. Does that seem true to everyone else?

Hi guys! Has anyone completed their background check yet? I think we're supposed to receive a blue postcard from BON after it's done. I'm also curious if everyone went through second interviews or just a few of us. Did anyone on here just interview once? Hopefully, the wait is almost over. Good luck to us all!

I completed my background check on Dec 15 and received my card a week or two later. I also didn't go for a second interview (I applied for CNS)...not sure if that's a good sign or bad sign.

I got my card back almost immediately as well. You may want to check on that if you know you have a clear background. I believe only NP applicants were asked for second interviews. I don't think LeaDs(those who originally applied to LeaDs track) or CNS were asked to do second interviews. Or that is the information I gathered from those who commented on this.

I applied for NP as well. I guess it makes sense NP applicants interviewed twice. I have a clear background and received the copy of my background check almost immediately as well but I never received an actual blue post card from BON. Do you guys know if there's any way to track it somehow?

I received the blue card from BON about 2 weeks ago. Also, did not get a call back for 2nd interview for CNS. I hope we all find out soon, good or bad (but mostly hopefully good!)

Gosh, I hope we find out today! I almost can't take it anymore..... :nailbiting:

Me too! I'm practically jumping out of my skin every time I get an email.

I have not received anything from the BON about the background check but know it is clear.....

No second interview for CNS

Update everyone WHO HAS NOT RECEIVED BLUE POSTCARD. They would have mailed it to your permanent address or possibly what is on your driver's license as that is where mine went! :)

I haven't received my blue card (though I'm positive I'm clean; I had to retake my prints) and I haven't been asked for a second interview for LeaDs. I get anxious whenever I check my email, but every day that goes by that I haven't been sent a rejection letter feels encouraging. Does anyone feel like their interviewer didn't tell them that they were doing "really well"? My (only) interview lasted an hour and 40 minutes. I hear thats a good thing but I was such a nervous mess.
