I ended up deciding on UT Austin. I wish all of you the best of luck on your path, and wish you all a strong and rewarding career. Xo

@leeezy, you got into Peds!? Congrats!

SFSU Fall 2015
@Anais-b, Sac is pretty affordable compared to SF. Take a look at Craigslist to get a sense of rent prices. You can get a nice place (and the houses are super cool) for much less than in SF. The summers are really hot in Sac, though, but you're closer to Tahoe. The public transit system is decent, too. I work in Sac, and I've been in the area for more than 12 years. PM me if you have any questions!

SFSU Fall 2015
ELMSN post here. According to my notes, everyone who had been accepted for the ELMSN program (they heard back on April 10) should have either accepted or declined within 2 weeks. That deadline was last Friday, April 24th. That means that the SON administrators should already know whether there is room for people in the first position of the waitlist, right? Right?!? Why the May 15th date??

SFSU Fall 2015
Hey, so I am on the waitlist for the Masters program, and I called the department and asked what spot I am on the waitlist. The person on the other end of the line didn't seem to mind answering for me.

Did anyone here get in to the ELMSN program for CNS in Women's Health?

SFSU Fall 2015
So I finally got up the nerve to call up the admissions office and I found out that I'm #1 on the waitlist for Women's Health CNS!! I feel really good about that! Has anyone already established a Facebook group for our ELMSN cohort?

SFSU Fall 2015
Good job, @master641215! Congrats! Is there any mention in your acceptance email of the date they gave you to accept by? I got waitlisted today, too. In my waistlist notification email they said that they "will be in touch by email and/or telephone if a space becomes available for [me] between May 15th and July 31st." Does that mean I won't hear ANYTHING until mid-May? I feel like I'm in no better position than I was before.

@allmylove4LZ, I'm pretty sure it's ok if you decide to change your admission response to CSULA. You don't owe them anything, ethically speaking, though I'm worried about this, too. They know some people are going to do this. You say you have to decide by April 13th. Do they make you pay a deposit on that date? If so, know that you will have to lose that money (likely around $300 or $500, though!) if you choose to go to SFSU instead and that you can add it to your overall nursing education cost. I'm sort of in the same boat, except that I've already accepted back in February and now I'm supposed to be moving to Texas in 5-6 weeks (I got into a really great program there!) unless I hear back from SFSU that I've been accepted and take that spot. Why do you prefer SFSU to CSULA?

SFSU Fall 2015
This feels like a stupid question, but I was wondering if there is an interview for the ELMSN program. I have been assuming that there is one, but I would like to know for sure. Thanks!

UT AE MSN 2015
@AustinTex, I've found that people in Austin look unfavorably at people from California moving in, and that nobody wants to live with a *stranger* from California...so maybe a few months in Kyle first will also help smooth that whole thing. I considered what you said about Zilker but I haven't found many ads on Craigslist for that area. I was thinking of getting a place near Lady Bird Lake but now I'm thinking that I'd prefer to meet people first, too.

UT AE MSN 2015
No, I haven't...though I may take up @PurpleReign on her offer to rent a room in Kyle for a few months, and in that case I suppose I would be carpooling with her. @AustinTex, which neighborhood are you in? I can't remember if you've said.
